Wouldn't call FM an established first teamer after a few games, looks good but not established in any way.

Also wouldn't say the likes of Love, Weir, Riley, Varela, McNair, Blackett, CBJ are anything that standouts from seasons gone by.

Still I do think there are some very good young players, but there is also a severe lack of balance IMO that needs fixing.

I'd say we're relatively healthy with plenty of work still needed, not jut with the squad but also the management, staff and board.

You have a pretty solid spine, just need to build around it and bring in players that will allow the likes of Rashford and Martial to flourish


That, and if you bring in a competent manager

I'd say that spine still needs a lot of work. I put that midfield trio there on the basis of our last game. Personally I'd replace Rooney and Fellaini with Herrera and Morgan but there are still question marks over them.

IMO our midfield is still an area that needs a lot of improving, whether that's with the likes of Herrera and Morgan or new signings.

When I say established I don't mean a first pick for every game, but with several games under their belt, and will be in the managers thoughts and plans.

I would saythat CBJ, Varela and McNair have shown enough to be considered as the very least squad players.
As I say, they wont all go on to make it, but if even half do it would be tremendous.

Already with Rashford, Jesse, Shaw and Martial it is four out of ten outfield players.With TFM it is half the team, and if we do sign Sanchez it is over half.

Of the youngsters listed I can only really see Shaw, FM, Adnan, rasfird and Martial coming good.

Il feel much better about our future once we get a decent manager in and sign the 4 or 5 first teamers needd.

We have reasons to be optimistic, however we're a million miles off being best in Europe again which surely must be the aim for one of greatest clubs in world (top 3)

I like Herrera but not sure he is quite up to what we need, but hope he will prove me wrong.

Morgan I do have hopes for, he is a quiet character and needed to grow into the team, I feel he will do well for us next season.

McNair??? I'd say his future at United is pretty much non existent these days.

Yes the rest are nice squad players but IMO only really Rashford, Shaw and Martial have long terms futures at this club in terms of being regular starters and even then Rashford has still plenty to prove in his second season, as will FM who I like too but has played too few games to really give a real view either way.

There are some nice signs but like I said I still think there's a lot of work that is needed in the squad.

RDD. You think five will come good, plus I presume you think Smalling and DDG are good enough.
I don't know your thoughts on Herrera and Morgan but four or five extra signings seems a lot to me.

don't waste £60m on Sanches, he's good but not worth any more then half of that price. I no it's still early days, but I think TFM can play that role of being the physical presence and bringing movement and energy to your midfield.

Oh and for god sake get Pjanic, fantastic player.

I'm pretty sceptical of any fans who has a view on Sanchez, who actually watches much of Benfica to give a fair view? Other than TRS and maybe Ji I've no idea who else watches Portugese football.

Sanches is good and very promising, but he is raw and his techinque is sloppy. He will be very very good, but right now £60m is WAY too much IMO

Id much rather have a Sanches who I've never seen play it hear he has a big ceiling, over Pjanic who looks neat and tidy but has never set the world alight when I've seen him, which is about 10 times, granted.

No I don't feel optimistic at all. We still have an incompetent manager and a chairman with no clue about football. We also have meddlers like SAF who believe what LVG achieved is good enough just to protect their own agenda. In terms of players I would say Degea, Smalling, Shaw, martial and to extent Rushford are only good enough. We have spent a lot of money but we still need 4 or 5 first teamers. If we keep LVG or give the job for Giggs, it will take years to reverse the effect and that is not at all something to be optimistic about.

How did we overpay? That was his value and we were happy to pay it. If he helps us win titles then his price is pretty much irrelevant, especially if you have the funds we do.

Buying him also didn't have any effect on our spending power as we have always had a rule that money will be there on special talent.

1982. I'm with you on that. I watch a fair ammount of french football but missed Kante altogether, and Martial really. In fact apart from Lacazette I have refrained from mentioning any foreign players. And I only have really noticed him because my son in law kept going on about him that I watched more carefully.

But they're completely different players. Sanchez is a b2b, Pjanic is a creator, the 2 would could work very nicely in midfield.

I just think that with the players you have, you would be better playing 4-3-3. 4-4-2 could work but i don't really see a solid midfield two or even two midfielders that would play well in a 2, players sometimes find it easier to play in a 3 and thus, play better.

Kroos and Modric struggled in a two, look much more comfortable in a 3 with Casemeiro.

The club maybe bothered about the price, but most fans don't give a toss. They want to see good players.

But hey, what do I know, I'm certainly no expert on English football, never mind Portugese or Spanish .

Well we are in a cup final with an incompetant manager in your view. At the very most he has another season and then we get a new man, and most likely in a few weeks.
Not sure what you mean by years to reverse the effect, but I do think there are reasons to be cheerful.
