Byram had an injury but I still feel he has been good and has a big future for us
Byram failed a late fitness test in the game tonight. He's been injured
1) he is injured
2) west ham fans I've spoke to love him. One thinks with our lack of options at right back for England and their lack of rightback options at west ham mean he could be 2nd or 3rd choice should he nail down a spot at west ham (which he also says he is more than capable of doing.)
They love him, think he is a bargain
Sam Byram was supposed to be the cream of our youngsters a year or so ago. Yet, at West Ham he has hardly had an outing, and I see tonight against the sc*m that he is again not even on the bench.
--------
People always say this about players we sell.
Delph not good enough
Kasper not good enough
Grades replaceable with Lloyd Sam
Howson no loss
Johnson not good enough
Byram not that good
For a club that has been underinvested in and the last 2 years cut back to the bone we have managed to produce some talent that is worth a bit of money these days.
Not necessarily more than other clubs but I hate it when people try and denigrate decent players when they leave.
If Mowatt has gone backwards is because, like Byram and like Coyle he gets played out of position.
Agreed Jonty. OP is talking rubbish.
Actually he's got it spot on
Bryam hasn't played well consistently for 3 years
People were calling him he next bale !!!!
He's a good footballer who lacks a yard of pace to become a top Prem player.
Mowatt, lovely footballer, who's got no engine and no pace whatsoever and it's going to hold him back
Taylor hasn't really played well, abit disappointing for me.
Cook really come on the last six weeks, he's the one.
erhaps these players need to realise that to play in the Premiership, their best hope is to get Leeds promoted
---------------/-1-----//
That's utter garbage
People said same about every player who's left and who can you say made the wrong decision, not many
I think he raises some fair point too.
Taylor's a talent but hasn't been that good this season.
We played Byram right wing when clearly a right back
Cook looks like he may become a serious player but his stars are average for an attacking or creative mf.
Not knocking out players. But the way we sometimes go on about them...

Agree with that as well, but other clubs seem to value them and more often than not they have gone onto greater things.
It was a question I asked not a statement that they were not good enough. I was aiming it at the players themselves who always think the grass is greener elsewhere. e,g. Bechio, Beckford etc.
I think the young players may look elsewhere shortly following the turbulent times ahead caused by manager sackings and court cases. They should stay and build a team capable of promotion and I take the points well made about playing them out of position affecting their form.
But we finished 13th ...
with them playing a lot of matches ...
Neither Becchio nor Beckford were youngsters when they left Leeds.
If we had a decent owner then we might persuade our better youngsters to stay. But in the current circumstances, I would expect any player with ambition to move on if a Premier club offers them a contract.
Funny thing is the one I never rated who played lots for us has gone in to be a key player for a play off team.
Tom Lees.

In addition to Jacks comments about neither of these being youngsters, neither of these players wanted to leave.
Beckford wasn't offered any more money in new contract and Warnock forced Becchio out.
ut we finished 13th ...

Only cook and Taylor played a lot and Taylor is not a youngster
They should stay and build a team capable of promotion
---------
Firstly, they don't get to build the team.
Secondly, they're not going to get promoted.
Thirdly, they'll probably be offered less money on their next contract.
Finally, the owner will want to sell them.
Agree with what's been said regards unrest. Sol spoke out about it. He's seen as a good team room bloke and leader of sorts. If he's speaking out it's bad.
And just like any work place, there's going to be nerves and discontent when leadership at the top jack around.
Yorkie, spot on re Lees. And good on him. If any of our youngsters were my lad, I'd encourage them to look for options in the summer.
Again looking at symptoms rather than cause.
Nothing wrong with our young talent.
Agreed Jonny - I hope we can keep them this summer.

Technically no, but Taylor was a late bloomer so in the scheme of development he's still young.
Centre midfield is the most important position on the football pitch, its a mans position and we've kids playing their for the past 2 seasons hence we keep finishing 15th. None of the other sides play youngsters in key areas and they do well. No kids on Burnley, Bournemouth or Norwich's team. Kids should be used sparingly
Of course they didn't have any kids I the midfield
They haven't any good enough
But guess what there trying to buy cook
Oh
And Spurs best player has been a player in midfield and who's same age as cook so your talking garbage
Other sides play kids in midfield in conjunction with an older or more experienced head alongside them. We've tried to do it without that - unless Luke Murphy is our older experienced head in midfield?!?!?! Dave has been a good addition, but only recently, as has Bridcutt.
You can't really compare Cook to Deli Alli - Alli appears to be a freakish talent. Cook is good, very good potentially - but right now not in the same league (literally!).
Who's comparing !!!!
Just pointing out you can have young players in midfield
We got promoted in 90 with two.
It's all about quality and old or young is irrelevant.
Vof
What about Austin last season and birdcutt and Dave both have either played since Christmas.
It's been poor attacking midfielders that have let us down
