Well if Modric wanted to go to a bigger club, he shoudn't have signed a 6 year contract last year. FACT.

posted on 3/9/11

I like that he stood up to him, should of let him go but players have too much power these days.

By the way Chelsea aren't a bigger club. If he wanted to go to Man U, fair enough.

But it wasn't like modric was doing what rooney tried to do

I dont see Fergie complaining since he made Rooney stay at United.

Modric = Spurs player
Levy = not a hero but well done
Rafa-jack = get over it & move on

Modric was never open for sale

Is Levy a hero? Not sure, he was doing things by the book...Modric's contract

Luka will get back to playing football, if he doesn't put the effort in he will be getting it in the neck from the rest of his team mates

You know what........For about 10 minutes I really did think that once the window shut we might have an end to articles from Chelsea fans on the Spurs site talking about Modric ...that's for me for thinking that

I know that come December we'll start all over again with the Modric to Chelsea interviews in the bloody Mail and Tribal football reprinting everything from used toilet paper to ten pound notes BUT until then .........CHELSEA FANS WIND YOUR NECKS IN AND GIVE US ALL A BREAK ABOUT BLOODY MODRIC

Personally I´m more than happy that we didn´t sign Modric for 40 million.

Whatever the papers say everyone is looking at Spurs and wondering how they turned down 40 million for Modric.

Modric is not a 40 million player.

Spurs are left paying the wages of an unhappy player who doesn´t want to be there.

Team morale will be effected, in fact it already has. You only have to look at Spurs getting mauled 5-1 by City.

I suspect that Spurs´s poor start to the season will continue as clearly all is not well within the Spurs camp.

Essentially Levy has cut off his nose to spite his face. If he thinks that´s a good move then so be it.

Modric will undoubtedly become available in January or next summer anyway, only this time Spurs will not get anywhere near the 40 million that Chelsea offered.

I think the point is that for once money and player power didn't prevail. If a player signs a contract he is bound to that contract, these days they say contracts don't mean a thing, Levy has proved otherwise!

SuperbFrank - such bitter comments, jumping on the "we didn't want him anyway bandwagon" . Next summer he will still have 4 years left on his contract and if he is for sale it won't be for any cheaper, why would it be?!

Levy has done well - he's stood up to the media, stood up to Chelsea and stood up to Modric.

Levy emerges victorious.

Modric will need to play well if he wants to leave - if he doesn't no one will want him.

He signed a 6 year contract last year and has been told to honour it for now.

So he needs to man up an get on with it.

Are Chelsea any better than Chelsea at the moment?

City and United are miles ahead of the rest. Chelsea won't achieve anything more than Spurs this season except for a 1/4 final defeat to Man U or Real Madrid or Barcelona in the Champions league.

Rafa TBH I couldn't give a tossss what team you follow , you've posted the 66,678th article about Modric and Chelsea and I'm thoroughly sick of each and every one of them

Modric is on loan to Spurs till January!

Do you think Fergie regrets keeping Rooney, Mancini regret keeping Tevez, Fergie regretted keeping Ronaldo (scoring 42 goals that season), Wenger regret keeping Fabregas & Chelsea keeping JT when he wanted out for an extra £10k pw?

Oh...and if anything his value will go up in January, as all values generally do.

Levy = genius .

Chelsea (& seemingly Liverpool) fans =

Chelsea will achieve more than Spurs but they probably won´t win any more trophies than Spurs this season.

Where did I say I didn´t want Modric ??

I said that I´m glad Chelsea didn´t pay 40 million for Modric because we´d have been paying nearly double what the player is worth.

12 million on Meireles is a much wiser signing in my opinion. That´s nearly one quarter of what Spurs turned down for Modric.

Is Modric four time better than Meireles ?

I don´t think so.

I think Levy has messed up here.

Ultimately Tottenham have a player who wants to move onto another (bigger) club and the fee reported of £40m was a great offer.

I expect Modric to move on in a future transfer window.

Are you going to define how they will achieve more or leave us all in suspense?

Chelsea are miles behind Man U and Man City - if chelsea fans don't realise this now they will soon find out.
