Jose will bring that back, no doubt about it Geoff
Didn't want to speak about Jose as just wanted to savour the win yesterday
As it is looking likely I hope those of us who didn't want him and were slated for sticking up for LVG will get behind him.
That said part of me still thinks the task at UTD is harder than most people think. I can see him struggle here but he will need people to understand this
I think a lot of rival fans are shatting it about Mourinho signing, as many were (are?) on our board when Pep signed for the massives.
Pep needed a shootout to beat a non rival in a 1 team league yesterday. If he's given unlimited funds at City, he'll look great in the league. But he obsesses over tactics and his own brilliance in one on one ties, yet he doesn't cover himself in glory when push comes to shove
If Jose doesn't bring the title back, then I'm going to personally hunt Robb down and beat him senseless. Probably gonna have to form a queue behind vc. But be assured a beating will be given.

Pep has only ever managed the best. His transfer activity this summer will tell a tale. Jose is far far better in one off games though, in spite of managing inferior teams

Barca also possessed better players though, no? How many times has the tactical genius masterminded away wins in the knockout stages of the CL? How well has he done in the latter stages of the CL full stop, given the teams he's managed? Has he done well?

I wouldn't bash Robb. One can not get ones self accused of gay bashing and Robb's latest article is as gay as they come.
But Robb will deservedly get some stick of Jose doesn't hit the ground running.

Bit of revisionism going on in places here...
In terms of Mourinho, he's one of a very few select group of managers (Guardiola included) that can create a similar amount of journalistic and fan interest as the top clubs can. Everyone has an opinion on him.
Couple that with a club the size of United and that will always create a topic people want to talk about, particularly with the history.
Who's fault might that be that they didn't progress? Why does he come up short so often in the biggest matches, in spite of having what looks like the better team?
Pep will spend a huge amount this summer. Will he spend enough to get the job done I'm the big one off matches? Time will tell

He does win most of them though, that's why he always gets to the latter stages of the CL.
You can't expect anyone to win a cup competition, that's why no one has ever retained it. He won El Clasico far more than he lost it.
He does fine with getting good jobs. Surely you can see where I'm coming from, no? Really? The man who managed the best Barca team of all time, left them (got equalled by his successor), went to Bayern, (failed compared to his predecessor). Consistently lost big matches in Europe (which are the only real matches in the jobs he's been in) when he had the superior team. Genius.
I think Zinidine Zidane is a brilliant manager on a completely unrelated note

He didn't fail compared to his predecessor though, no one at Bayern thinks he has. You can only think that if you put an expectation of a CL win on a manager. His win percentage was the best in their history.
Barca, speak to their fans about which their best team was.
