Have you you concidered going to the game?
It works for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Id love to but where I live I need to allow at least 3 hours travelling each way and with the cost of the ticket and travel, food, drink , etc and with family commitments cant do it on a regular basis which means getting tickets when I can which isnt as often as Id like. Id love to be able to go to every game but money priorities, family commitments, etc dont allow more than a couple of games a year if Im lucky.
Very interesting reading. I take it you need a dish for these boxes? I've got virgin atm so no dish...

You can get a cable receiver. You just keep Virgin broadband, connect it to the receiver and pay a server around £100. If you get the ZGemma H1 which I have, it allows you to use both satellite and cable, so it will keep the option of satellite open for you.
Due to it being Linux you're also able to do many things like download a Virgin skin which will make everything look as if you were using Virgin. It's simply sign up to a server. Connect your cable to the receiver, input the data you're given, download a skin and scan for channels.
If you want the satellite option you just need to buy a second hand satellite dish and use an app on your phone to get the correct alignment. I think the app is called Dishpointer.
However if I were you, having Virgin already, I'd go that route as you'll have all the HD channels. Just cancel everything but the broadband.
3 hours driving...it takes that time to get from OT to the M6 on match days sometimes..
If you can't afford it that's ok...football ticketprices are ridiculous.. But please don't use travelling time as an excuse... Try living it the SW or NE you have to travel hours to get anywhere in the FL yet thousands do every week .. You are either a committed fan or not
I know that this has probably already been said in an earlier comment, but I find it crazy how we in the US have way more footy options than Europe does. I will be able to watch every EPL game this year with a package that roughly costs $80. This also gives me viewing to a majority of the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup games as well. For $15 a month extra I could watch every Bundesliga match, but I'm satisfied with being able to watch 3-5 matches from there a week without paying it. I also get at least 6 matches from La Liga and 3 from Ligue Un. You guys are getting screwed.

It's so live attendance doesn't fall that it's illegal to show 3pm ko
Used that app, along with a meter thingy bought off ebay for a fiver to put the old mans dish up yesterday.
And fluck me, it worked.
To be fair, its pretty simple stuff, so if you want to go for the dish option, the dish, which is the exact model, LNB included, used by sky installers, you can get them on ebay for £19.99.
Buy a sky cable extension kit, with everything else you need, from B&Q for £7.00.

I know that is the case, but the same is true of the NFL here in the US with blackout rules. Why not just blackout the games that don't meet the minimum ticket sales requirements? As big as the TV deals are now, you think that you would be able to watch more than 3-4 games a week?

Because they aren't thinking about the premier league clubs they are thinking about lower league and non league clubs.
If every 3pm game is on TV then most non league would fold due to low attendance.

Problem is this doesnt work. People who cant go just watch online. I personally think if they did allow the games to be shown legally (maybe pay per view) it would generate far more revenue for the clubs and whoever showed the game and generate even more interest in football. The people I know who dont watch much and arent that into football all say they used to be but dont bother any more because it is too expensive to watch it.

Question - As a technophobe who just does want too much hassle but wants high quality and reliable HD football plus all the usual live channels plus the equivalent of Kodi's Exodus for films and series, good user experience as similar to Sky in terms of doing away with silly links and a proper scheduled guide what should I go with?
I have a dish from my old Sky HD box and decent enough internet connection. I'll get a VPN but don't really know where to start should I be looking at the IPTV or satellite? Cheers.
