What part of we are not match fit do you not understand? It's a facking friendly FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All teams losing it claim it to be a friendly.

It isnt though, its a trophy match
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well utd fans would say that now they've won it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've probably forgot all about winning things
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We won 4 trophys in the last 3 years u donkey
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, friendlies
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What fa cup is a friendly now is it?
4
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, you didnt win the PL, CL, EL, you did win the FA twice, so that means you are now counting winning this match as a trophy as well then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like u just did, if the utd gloryhunters can I can aswell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read back and see the mess you left behind. You actually consider the shield a trophy, but messed up when trying to be smarter than you really are. Typical Gooner fan

We weren't match fit either.

You were terrible, and deserved nothing. Routine win if Fellaini didn't pass your striker the ball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be ridiculous. You were fitter than us which is key when pressing is a huge part of your game. It wasn't routine at all. Don't forget, unlike you I was at the match. You're making over the top comments from your armchair with a tenants super in your hand
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you figure that load of rubbish? You've played more pre season games than us and the majority of your squad returned earlier than ours...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We haven't played more pre season games than you I don't believe. Like you guys we have been in the ICC. I've watched us all last season and we were well off the pace which is a worry

----------

Wrong. You've played more games than us in pre season. For an all knowing all powerful match going fan you don't know a whole lot. You played a game more than us in pre season.

From a former match going fan to a current match going fan, it's not a yard stick to beat other fans with. I heard some right cac from fellow fans from the comfort of my match day seat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would a hardcore Leicester fan know how many pre seson games Manchester United have played?

And how is that relevant to our training schedule which for all you know may be the problem

posted on 7/8/16

And by the way......I'm using it as a stick to beat one of your other fans because he's coming out with utter tosh about how my club played when he wasn't at the match. Or should I just listen to him prattle on for your benefit?

Well then I worry for your club if your players turn up for a game less fit than a team that's had a shorter pre season.

If I was a hardcore Leicester fan I'd be concerned.

Your being at the game doesn't make your interpretation of it more valid than his, if he has a better understanding of the game than you. Which he might.

I can't tell he doesn't because his comments are not reflective of the actual game. When you are at a match you can see an awful lot more of what's actually going on. Like the off the ball runs the cameras aren't showing etc.

I know that, I've often argued the merits of Jesse Lingards workrate and runs off balls with non match going United fans. It doesn't mean that if I say we were good because I enjoyed the game, and others say we weren't good, that I'm right.

Leicester were pretty poor today. There's no doubt about that, even from behind a TV screen.

We were off the pace but not terrible by any stretch. Terrible is a 5-0 hammering. Terrible is not winning any challenges or not even creating a chance. Terrible is parking the bus and not trying. We were none of those things. We were simply below par and missing Kante.

posted on 7/8/16

......and we do need to replace Kante that's fairly obvious

posted on 7/8/16

I think if I were a Man Utd fan I'd be worried about this season at least, that might be the only 'trophy' they'll win.

Not worried about Leicester at all, we look like we'll just carry on like last season, probably not to glory again but a decent position beckons.

posted on 7/8/16

Blackstarr...........probably agree.....ref: Kante.
Mendy & Amartey are not hunters..........more like providers.
Either we alter our game to suit them or buy............and buy quickly to keep our season alive from the off.

Nothing to be worried about. Apart from an individual mistake we were utterly comfortable against last seasons champions, and that was with less of a pre season and it looks all but confirmed that Pogba is coming. We've also got Mkhitaryan being eased in, and Bailly did a fair job of containing Vardy. With his pace he won't have many tougher opponents than that this season. Smalling still to come back as well. Probably likely that we will be starting games with Mkhitaryan, Pogba and Schneiderlin come the start of the season. No, not much to be worried about at all. Routine pre-season win.

It's claimed Musa is quicker than Vardy!
How do you think Bailly & Smalling will cope with the pair of them running at full pelt?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know Musa is exceptionally quick. I've even him cause us and City problems in the flesh. Having seen both I would say he's definitely quicker than Vardy. To answer your question, I think it would be a test but at the same time neither Smalling nor Bailly can be accused of being slow themselves. As a centre back myself I've always found that if you've got a bit of pace between two centre backs and you play a staggered back two you can deal with pace reasonably well. It would be a good competition to watch. Smalling has very good positioning so I think we'd just about handle it.

posted on 7/8/16

It would be a very interesting tussle between 'em! Discipline would be key i think?

posted on 7/8/16

Will be good to see united and Leicester in the league when both are up to speed. Will be a different affair I think. Agree that United were the better side but with Okazaki hitting the bar and but for some better decision making from us in the final third then it could easily have been a draw

I wouldn't say United looked utterly comfortable, they were pretty unimaginative for much of the first half and looked very much like last season. Mourinho seemed to agree with that which is why he said it will take time. Lingards super effort really did open things up

We didn't look our usual selves but I thought they scored their first against the run of play and I didn't see the second coming either. All in all a draw would probably have been the fairest result. Hopefully this will get us up and running for Hull.

posted on 8/8/16

Against the run of play It was pretty much wave after wave of Man Utd attack against a 10 man wall of Leicester City defence. We scored with our 4th shot of the game and Leicester City had I think 1 shot in that time.

Okay complete territorial domination. Suprised how many times Leicester City were hoofing it. Only set pieces and a gift from Fellaini did Leicester City cause us any trouble. Barely did anything all game in open play.

Oh come on Hafi you know how we (Leicester) play it cant be a surprise. We have a tried and trusted method and dont need the ball- if your passing it around at the back your not hurting us. We don't have the quality of most teams to intricately pass through defences so we chip it through to our 2 whippets up front!

I think you had some neat play at times and your certainly going to be much stronger than you were last season. But lets not pretend you were all over us yesterday.

posted on 8/8/16

I don't think we will be much stronger then last season. Its just last season the fine margins went against us. If those fine margins go for us with the extra quality we have brought in that could make all the difference.

I think Leicester City will finish about 7th or 8th and probably finish 2nd in CL group depending on draw and you never know could be a dark horse for the CL.
