18 away wins from 118 attempts.
A club record - for the WHOLE Football League I wonder?...
Boom! Game, set, and match....
Clough didn't sell Grant. His contract expired in 2007 and was not renewed. Think it was Billy Davies who let him go.
Back to Clough again 😴
He did what was asked of him and when the club was ready to push on it became apparent his time was up. He wasn't great, nor was he terrible, we as a club have moved on, Clough has moved on maybe everyone else should too.
I actually agree Tommo
I think it's just because we play 'him' on Friday. I hope...

"Clough has moved on"
Sadly, I'm not sure this bit is true
I actually agree Tommo too. We needed him at that time. We got him and he did well. But it was well that he went. It's just the manner was very naff.
Correct tommo, it is just some on here have an obsession with saying how bad he was and it wasn't the case. As we can see on this thread there are a few false memories of that period.
We are on our 4th post Clough manager. It might be sensible to look at what the present manager is doing rather than looking back.
Anyone confident about tomorrow can get 10 to 1 for a Derby against Burton win at Coral, new customers only. Sprat to catch a mackerel I know but for a one off looks like a license to print money.

Can't you recognise an attention seeking troll, 3R. It is what happens to a lot of people who were ignored in their teen years. We should be grateful he didn't become a serial killer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You not that for sure do you!

Nothing has ever been proven, Sheepy...
How's the family, btw?

No improvement I'm afraid...All in their twenties but still teenagers. How about yours, all OK now

Yes, thank you
Lil'Un has got what she wanted from her A levels and is on her first choice course at her first choice Uni, and Lil'est'Un is all good and progressing nicely; her scowl is particularly impressive for one of such tender years.
It's all well and good you lot saying 'move on' and 'look forward' and whatnot, but what am I supposed to do about this 'Clough OUT' tattoo on my neck?
Today's rumours see bids in for Vydra and Wisdom!
I am certain there would be no shortage of volunteers to cut that tattoo out of your neck.
It's all been said Chris, but Nigel C joined us when we were in a right mess and sorted it out. He got better players in for little money and several are still here and many would say are our best players.
We will never know, but I wonder how NC would have got on with all the money which we has wasted on the many poor players signed in the last 2 years. I can only think of Carson, who cost nothing, as a decent signing. Thorne was a good signing but sadly he seems injury prone. As for the rest, you only have to look at the Carlisle match.
666, I think the "troll" remark to Ramdini is a bit below the belt. Not very nice at all for a Tory to behave like this.
How exactly did he "sort it out". I keep hearing that repeated as fact but the stats have been repeated many times also.
I think he was about four places hire (14th) when he left us from when he took over after four and a half years yet some are judging NP after 4 league games.
Slightly off-topic but I'm just reading Burton are still 'hoping' to sell-out for tomorrows game.
Tickets went on General Sale to the public on Tuesday and there are still 400 left
It seems they can't even sell out for their cup-final.
Perhaps NC is having a similar effect on the Burton fan-base - not dislike he virtually crucified our attendances as they gradually fell trough the floor during his tenure with us?...
...and he gets a lot of praise for the stirling work that GSE did in gradually shedding the overpaid prima-donnas of the Jewell era, although he kept that disgrace-to-the-shirt Savage for a lot longer than any sane person would've.
The fact that so many players that he had at Derby will be relegated with him this season speaks volumes.
obviously 'higher' not 'hire'
He did deck Billy Davies.
Without doubt his finest moment 2W

Clough had nothing to do with Hughes or Hendrick and did he not sell Shackell and Grant too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suppose you think that picking them for the first team had nothing to do with their development.

I merely stated he didn't sign them
He didn't sell Grant either Bush.
I'd love Vidra to sign. Always highly rated him and is exactly what we need to change our style of play. If this happens I will genuinely start to get excited again.
Clough's Heart
SM's expansive game.
PC's afternoon naps.
DW's enthusiasm
NP's hairdryer.
Jobs a good-un.
Ajax saviours of modern football played their best stuff when Rinus Michels left and the players were let out of their disciplinarian straitjacket a bit, I think since Jewell our best stuff came in that transition period from post Clough conservative passing to the 4-3-3 let's take it to em of SM.
2 more games of Nigel Peason and I reckon we'll be ready for the transition, like a caged beast told only to use his teeth and never his claws to catch his prey, we can release this team back into the wilds to hunt on their terms.
Meeow.
Transitions are good.
