No one at Rangers has ever claimed he failed his medical.

It must have been money.

So never in the history of football has someone had an issue with a medical at one club but then passed at another club?

Big John might have something to say about that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was nothing to do with a medical. The Villla owner implied that Rangers verbally offered him so much per week but when he arrived in Scotland reneged on that and offered him less.

Warburton said that was rubbish and Lescott's reason was that he didn't want to uproot his family from Manchester.

Fortunately the commute from Manchester to Athens is only a few minutess by star trek teleporter

did rangers not say it was family reasons?

bit of a mockery of that surely?

that being the case, you would have to imagine warburton will be unhappy.

gives him a good excuse to jump ship when it becomes too much

Dunno. Hard to feed a family on £10k per week or whatever the offer was.

It was a major gamble for 6 million, but it's history now. God bless Big John.

Kids need fed, Ferrari needs a drink. His model wife needs to imagine somebody more human at night. He'd be paying to play here before he knew it. If I'm paying for a holiday it might as well be in Greece.

It wasn't the 10K that was the problem, it was getting it paid in ginger bottles that was the sticking point

I can guarantee you that Lescott did not sign for us because he failed his medical, and the failure was centred on the condition of one of his knees.

The guy is in the twilight years of his career and looking for a new club, possibly his last club, and if it came out that his knee was a bit of a mess, no club would've touched him.

Hence the family reasons bit getting spouted so he could save face.

We have dodged a bullet. A guy who was getting 72k per week to play for his boyhood team couldn't even bother trying his erchie for them so when the going got tough do you think he would have bothered trying a leg?

If the truth is we offered him less money because something showed up on his medical then mibbe we are just learning our lesson.
