It's pretty obvious that the rot of the Bielsa effect is setting in now.
Why does Poch know what he is doing? Even the greatest managers have made mistakes.
Look at SAF with Jaap Stam for example (obviously Stam was far superior a player)
clearly shouldn't have sold bentaleb and chadli. that was obvious and most of us said it at the time.
didn't even get any money in for bentaleb - hes on loan. wasn't poch complaining about not having a big enough squad the other day?
Playing for Schalke is a lot easier than playing in the Prem for Spurs.

We did get money Chronic, 1mil for the loan
That financial gain is really worth having Tom Carroll playing
Didn't bentaleb ask to leave?

A good player is a good player, doesn't matter if he is playing for Spurs, Schalke, Sampadoria or Steaua București.
Plus I would argue it is easier to shine in our team with better players, and also the German league is ahead of the English league.
He was always over rated by our fans.
I think it is important we bring a sporting director or director of football.
It would protect us in the instance of bentaleb who we could loan out for two years but keep him within the squad if poch really does not want him. Bentaleb is worth about 25 mill but has unlimited potential, he was tipped for the very top and will go on to be one of the best midfielders in Europe no doubt whatsoever.
Poch has never signed players, interestingly he personally signed and scouted Janssen but is not exactly favouring him right now. I don't like in this day and age coaches having too much of a say in transfers.
Unfortunately we need a squad capable of keeping us in the upper echelons of the premier league. Imagine poch retires tomorrow. We have a great 10 (I don't include lamela) thin squad suitable to play one way.

I thought he asked to get game time? Poch couldn't promise it so the compromised with a loan?

"Yes, he is training with the U21s. He is not with the first team, because he wanted to leave," admitted Pochettino. "If he wanted to leave, he can come and see me, I say 'ok you can leave', and he is waiting to try to find a place away from Tottenham."

I'm annoyed he's left but he has got a shiet attitude and he's hardly building bridges ATM moaning about us as fans not supporting him
I thought he wanted to leave only cos he asked to get game time?
With regards to sheit attitude; I understand he was moaning a few seasons back around the time he got injured for Algeria, but then I thought he tried to do everything in his powers to make up for that? Apparently he trains hardest (it's what the players said) and was willing to put in the effort for the U21s, but was still left out of the squad.
Also, what is this about moaning about us fans not supporting? First I have heard of it!
"Even if Tottenham were on top of the league, I would not regret my transfer," he said.
"They believe in me at Schalke. I made this decision, and a few defeats won't change anything.
"We worked hard enough, in every match, in every training session. But we've made mistakes and we need to cut them out.
"But we fight and I believe that's also the reason that the fans support us.
"I don't know that from England. If you lose there, nobody supports you in the stadium."]

Hmmm... that's quite a claim!
I'd say there certainly is a lot of doubt. Maybe he will but I wouldn't say he's shown enough yet to be saying that.
Hope he does
What's bentaleb on about ? Since he's been playing in the first team we haven't lost many games at whl at all. He's a good player but last season he played like a caaant and deserved a bit of stick.
When he played last season he was atrocious IMO and no chance was he going to get in a head of Dier & Dembele.
TBH even when Carroll played last season his performances was better.

Yeah agreed, but it was just a blip in form due to a slight injury IMO.
I still can't believe he said that about the fans, the amount of support he gets on social media platforms, for example, is incredible.
If he goes on to have a great season with them then we'll keep him on next season I imagine.
I don't think you can say a player that barely featured last season when we did so well, is particularly missed though.

Yea of course his form was obviously lower than the talent he's got but if he didn't want to wait for his chance ( which he would have got this season with the injuries we've had ) then what can you do.
Get a decent fee for him and move on is probably the best way to go now.
I'm excited to see how Winks progresses as he's a very talented player also
I think a creative spark is badly missed, I just think bentaleb is a player who can provide this.
We wont get a decent fee though, as contractually Schalke have the option to purchase for 17mil. Which I thought is pretty set in stone?

£17m for a player through the academy and that doesn't want to be here anymore is alright IMO
