Nuggets, I think yes. They were one game from playoffs last season. Literally, the last quarter.

And they have been a bottom five team defensively for the past five years. Now, they are top team defensively, very very strong at home and offensively, they been up there too ( without Barton and IT is yet to play).

The best passing big man in Joker-Jokic and one of the best passers in the league, period.

A genuine two-way team and no top team wants to play at Denver with altitude/ fans etc.

I think Clippers will drop off. They can't sustain this level - we will see but Doc Rivers is a defensive coach so they play hard D.

Boston have a collection of talent that is nigh-unrivalled in the league but I think a) they are not as talented as many think ( me, included) but maninly because b) Boston are historically immense at home in the playoffs, that is the case.

If Bolton is not a top three team come end of the season , hence no home court for the finals/ semi-finals, I really struggle to see them winning the east 'on the road'.

WTF is going on with the Warriors this year. They blew a 20 point lead against us yesterday and that was the only game I tuned into so far this season.

Something certainly not right in GSW.

Lost three straight at home now. Lost by 20+ points at home thrice etc

Maybe they need that fifth all-star in Boogie to bail them out

Whole season has been mental and full of inconsistency!

Refs have been appalling. Harden is having a season for the ages, it's very good stuff.

White saviour? Judging by his votes in the all-star break

Refs have been appalling indeed. Harden has been sensational - offensively but his usage rate is off the charts and he will hit a wall come play-off time, again! Currently, Harden is my MVP with Giannis a close second.

Has to be said, Harden's flopping and ability to get calls is borderline disgusting these days. The refs would call a foul on him if you breathe on him. He has taken the Barca ( and Spanish) dark-arts of conning refs and took it several notches.

Lakers are an awful team. Take away LBJ and they'd be what they were last season. Admittedly, they also miss Rondo.

Money still on GSW to win it all, but the gap has certainly closed a bit btw them and others. If Rockets kept their core from last season, they'd be favourites but as it is with CP-3 getting older and worse, a Harden-injury away from falling out of the play-offs and no elite defenders besides Capella, bar some moves, I still expect them to fall short.

If PG-13 went to Lakers, Lakers could have toppled GSW this year.

I knew Pelicans had been bad but i didn't realise they'd been that bad lol 1 from the bottom. Davis needs to leave

I agree.

However, there is a slight concern. I have been high on AD, I actually think he is a top three player in the league. I have him as no 2 and closing in to be no 1.

For a guy that good and registering those numbers, he should lead his team to wins - not just this year, but over his career. One playoff in seven or so years is not good enough and this Pelicans team has a solid roster. And his team should be much better than their current seeding.

He is a perennial all-star, an elite two-way and an MVP calibre player but his leadership ( and not every one has the ability, KD has famously said, he aint down for leading a team) and his overall effect on a team is questionable.

Davis is overrated. He's another stat padder with the occasional other worldly game. His skill set is not unique to win or lose a game.

''He's another stat padder with the occasional other worldly game. ''

Wrong. Firstly, every other game for him is a 'world game'. Secondly, he leads the league in PER and each year, he is close to the top with that - ergo, most efficient players ( Like LBJ has lead or being around the top of that for over a decade). Thirdly, he is in the tough wild west and NOP has not been properly run.

Before this season, Giannis was in a similar boat. A better coach and an organisation moving forward and Giannis is making strides ( though, still can't shoot).

I admit that his skillset should translate to more wins - no doubt about that. But there are caveats to that assumption.

I feel AD is a generational talent and perhaps he needs to go somewhere to learn how to win. Any organisation with winning formula ( i hope Lakers) but Celtics, Warriors etc will do.

posted on 10/1/19

AD is talented, don't get me wrong. He's just not on generational talent that can will his team to victory. There's nothing about his game that is impossible to guard besides his length. I think we put PJ Tucker on him in the perimeter and PJ is like 6'6.

Like take Curry for example. Lights out 3 anywhere, any time on the court. Kyrie's got the iso game on lockdown with his superior handles. Dirk won a championship with his spot up fade away that was impossible to guard. Shaq outmuscled guys. Little stuff like that separate the good from the best.

I think if his injury prone-ness was not as severe, he could be top 3 easily but his development has not been as bullish as someone like Giannis or Capela, etc.

Man, Lakers suck major a--se sans LBJ and Rondo.

Lose against the Knicks/ Cleveland and at this rate, Bulls next , at home- the worst teams in the league is pathetic.

After that comes the toughest run-in with OKC, GSW and HOUSTON.

posted on 14/1/19

everyone sucks apart from bucks gsw and raptors, and even them 3 haven't been amazing

posted on 14/1/19

There are levels of sucking but man Lakers are garbage.

Poor shooting, terrible at FTs. Then again, they were bad last season and adding LBJ to the roster inflated how good they were. They were 4th seed ( one game from 3rd seed) when he went down.

In hindsight, should have traded a bit more for Kawhii or gone al out for PG-13.

Now hovering around 8th/9th spot and with the next four games, might be around 11th in a week

The Nuggets have been ok too.

Nuggets have been sensational not oK, IMO.

Missed playoffs last year and one of the worst defensive teams in the league and now they are an offensive and defensive juggernaut whilst missing key players.

If you offered the bet that they'd be leading the west after 50 percent of the season have been played, I won't have taken that bet for all the tea in china.

We are going to wear down James Harden and he's going to be poor again in the playoffs. They need to manage his minutes when CP3 and Capela comes back.

This off-season will be interesting.

Knicks...er?

NO/ Lakers/ GSW/ Celtics/ Clippers...there are more teams with the cash than there will be free agents.

Certainly Interesting

That's Lakers small chance of play offs pretty much done now, 5 losses straight

posted on 10/3/19

Never had a chance due to brons injury. Terrible team. Biggest achievement of his career was getting them to 4th with half season gone

posted on 10/3/19

to be fair Lebron hasn't even helped them the last few games he's been $hit and they've rightly been booing him. Kuzma has been a bigger loss
