It's a shame because the way poch treats the cups we are gonna struggle to win one. Not his fault our fringe players aren't really good enough to do what city and arsenal seem to be able to do

Even I have realised that the two domestic cups mean nothing now. The CL is where it is at, and Poch knows that. Levy would have told him that with the new stadium on the horizon, CL for the foreseeable future is a must, so he is basically throwing the cup competitions.

Couldn't agree more.
If we play strong here, we probably win, confidence remains high, and our season still looks full of opportunities.
Now, we're limited to CL - realistically no chance, PL - realistically no chance & FA Cup - total lottery - so no chance.
Poch is a good manager but at this rate he'll never be great - not at our club anyway.
He looks at the bigger picture,

If he did, he would see that in 8 years of management, he hasnt won a single honour in football, and his current club have won only 1 league cup in 25 years.
So if he does see domestic cup competitions as somehow irrelevant, then he a complete fool.

It makes sense that were releasing one though. We got a job lot on dvd cases from Levy after he had to pull the planned "the season we finished above arsenal commemorative dvd" at such late notice last year.
I'm sure Levy has said to Poch not to worry about the cups and concentrate on the league and Champions League.

I just think poch can't do any cups and cannot do Europe either. We always lack something namely urgency. His record is skewed by fc nobody of Azerbaijan who we struggled against lol and wins against reserves in cups. Forest played there's a few years ago even gillingham rotated! Against Monaco we looked toothless.
I just don't know why we can't translate our league performances to the cups.
It is like watching two different sides.
In cups we look toothless we go through the motions you can set your watch to it.
Even if we played our first team the same result would of happened tonight i feel.

Wouldn't have any say but they would of had a pre-season meeting to discuss aims for the season and I'm sure the League Cup was off the table and in the bin.
First season Poch was busy transitioning the squad to his style, while putting the dregs to one side. Still reached a cup final and lost to the PL Champions. Klopp knows how this feels for his first season too.
Second season we were involved in the title race.
This third season I agree that we should be looking to win something now, but maybe wait until it's over to judge rather than write him off for going out of the first cup in a tough away match to Pool. Nobody is going to give a shiiit about it if we were to win an FA Cup or more remarkably a PL title.
