I'm sure Levy has said to Poch not to worry about the cups and concentrate on the league and Champions League.

With the new stadium Levy needs cash and the League cup is worth nothing.
====================
Right.
OK then, so Pochettino is employed to increase revenues, but not bring trophies to the lane.
Fair enough.

Sounds very arsenal to me. Bet that stings. Always in arsenal's shadow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal took pelters from Spurs fans for this attitude as well. Even though they were more desperate for the CL revenue than Spurs are.

Spurs will never win the CL

But they do have a chance by just being in it. Liverpool won't win the CL, they are not even in it.

Winning the league cup can't be a bad thing, it will grow a winning mentality in the squad, give players a taste for winning things, can't count the amount of times you hear a player from a successful team say the first cup win was a huge moment.

Jose came into Chelsea first time, and I don't care really about the money, but went and won the league cup and his team were the best in the country for a few years, it's a chance to win a cup before the final third of the league, if you're in a title race and win the league cup it would be brilliant for motivation, team spirit etc.

I can understand a manager with European commitments putting the league cup at the bottom of their priorities but every team and manager would love to win it.

Ridiculous to dismiss it, anyone who does is just trying to push some nonsensical agenda.

We've got more chance of winning it and we're not even in it. You're just there to make up the numbers.

Funny how all supporters of clubs that are not in the CL, have suddenly put winning the Mickey mouse cup as a major target.

Just glad to be in with a chance of winning a trophy. Four years is a long night time for a massive club to go without a trophy.

Why wouldn't they

If you're not in Europe the domestic cups are an obvious target, I mean ffs this is basic logic

Funny how Sandy didn't ever used to watch the CL and though that winning trophies was more important than finishing top four, but now finishing top four is more important than trophies because for once they actually got top four.

Kneerash, it's an interesting point. I think our legue cup win in 2006 was cited as having a positive effect on the younger players at United that then went on to help us dominate the league. It obviously doesn't mean it'll work for everyone but winning trophies cannot do a team any harm.

Actually think there have been more league cup and league doubles in the prem over the last decade and a bit than fa cup and league doubles, as an aside.

To be fair, Top 4 is miles bigger than the EFL Cup.

It's never too late to say the right thing.

Every sane supporter knows that finishing top four and CL footie is where it is at. For supporters to live in denial, and say otherwise, they need to take up another sport. This ain't the 20th century now where the domestic cups were kings.

So now we've taken The Mickey Mouse Cup and all other domestic cups out of the equation. When was the last time Spurs won a trophy?

If we start prioritizing what we do & don't want to win we'll win nothing. We need to try to win every comp that way we have every chance of winning something.

What makes our club stand out from alot of clubs is history, if we start trying to pick a trophy we'll start to blend in with the West Hams of this world.

Poch mucked up - no doubt about it.

Sandy only last season you were saying players should never be rotated, that sports science wasn't a thing and that Spurs should play the strongest 11 in every game.

You lack any semblance of conviction in your beliefs.

So there we have it. Football is about supporting the team to generate money for the players and the owners, rather than the glory of a trophy.

Paying big transfer fees and wages > winning competitions.

The Arsenal blueprint

Chicken

I have always advocated playing the strongest possible XI in every competition. I continually got shouted down on that one. It is patently obvious that the squad players last two or three years are never going to win a cup competition, so the only way that Spurs will win a cup competition is to play the first XI, is that what our supporters want on here, I don't think so.

I still say that rotation never works, the team that wins the Mickey mouse cup will eventually have to field their full strength side.

So the last time you played a full strength team was 2008?
