Finn is one of Cooks close mates. Will always get the nod.

Ha I see the likes of Finn get chosen over Ball once more.. total biasness selection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't forget Angus Fraser is also a selector
Englandwhoelse... see point 5... ( I think it was 5)...
Really disappointed in the selectors...
I've seen enough now from Rashid to show that he's not up to test matches. On low scoring turning decks like this England can't afford for him going at 5 an over when the opposition are only chasing 200 odd.
Batty didn't look great but I thought he looked a threat when going round the wicket to the right handers and with Moeen having a reluctance to do that I thought it offered something a bit different.
Ball should have been given a go on account of his county form and his performances in the Odis.
serial the number 5 in on the thread.. so forget!
Anyway to me it stands to reason. this wickets are very slow. Finn is back of a length bowler and often bowls to short.I don't seem him bowling at 95mph... so will be useless.
Ball is more of a fuller length bowler. In subcontinent wickets.. You gotta be expressive in pace or full.
and furthermore finn ain't bowled well for god knowssss how long!.
on other thread that should have said^^!
The only glimmer of hope about Finn is that maybe, just maybe he'll charge in knowing it's going to be 3-4 over spells and will bow rapid...
Can't see if though...
Wood I think is a massive miss.
Was really looking forward to seeing him bowl in these conditions in short spells.
Think finn will be cannon fodder. Bad pick. Ball looked good in the odis so should have been picked. Not sure why broad is being rested unless he is carrying an injury or someone wants the prestige of winning their 100th cap in the first test of an india v england series rather than a warm up match
Finn was excellent in uae last year on flat tracks and caused paks top order problems by banging it in short.. hasn't been the same though since he's picked up injury.. if he's injury free it's not as bad a selection as some are making out
Feel there are too many holes in the england team to succeed in india. The batting is very poor. Totally reliant on the all rounders/long tail to get the team out of trouble after being next to nothing for 3. The spinners are a sorry lot. Last time England had swann and panesar. This lot are just pie chuckers
Not been awake long.. managed to catch Ansari action on the highlights.. gawd hes too flighty.Doesnt bowl it quick enough.. I know its his first bowl obviously..But looks to me already he will be cannon fodder against top batsmen..
There is a slight disrespect to Bangladesh with England making the changes they have..
England narrowly won the last game..if England don't win this series.. serious questions need to be asked..
And if Bangladesh get 400+ England will probably lose!
It says on the bbc that cook made the 2 changes to the 11.Hes a very poor captain.. Very programmed in his approach..
Batty old. (no future)..Ansari very young (must give him a chance) .
Finn he's part of the England set up.. Ball nope hes on the outside and remains so!.
I wouldn't worry too much about picking Batty because he's too old.
They've picked the 'best' player available to them to see them through 2 series' in the sub continent.
They could have played Ansari in the first test if that's the case!..
I don't get the team selection at all.. Why isn't hameed getting a chance? Because hes not a middle order batsman..Ballance shouldn't be playing..
Its simple move everyone down a spot to get hameed in. Duckett to 3 and Root back to 4 where he belongs..
Our bowling without Broad and Anderson is terrible with the exception of Stokes.
Our spinners are a joke.
Sky just showed the stats of recent England seamers... Darren Gough only played 58 test matches? could of sworen he played more..Very good bowler though.
Rashid has no business at test level.
How many threads are we using for this test? 4 going at once. Use this one lads:

Only reason Rashid takes wicket at county level. Is most of the time county batters don't give a damn. They just slog him in the air and get caught out.
I don't rate county cricket! needs an over haul.
To me they should play 3 divisions and play over 5 days..
play on wickets that start off flat and then turn on day 4/5.. gives spin bowlers a chance..
Rashid has no business at test level.

saved you lot today
Kaz bro,
Just ignore that fool.. Got no brains and just write crap all the time here!
the fans need to get on the so called top order batsmen, they fail a heck of a lot more than the bowlers who regularly save eng with bat and ball
Alastair cook, although England's best batsmen and a cricket legend has the knack of struggling against quality bowling. Also imo England have way too many bits and pieces bowlers that are labelled as all rounders.
Imo Bangladesh might be Indias toughest opponent. Any chance we could make Eng series a 3 match affair and get Bangladesh for 3 matches?
Bangladesh are finally showing some fight in all forms, and time is now ripe to start playing them in more matches and getting them play in different places
India v England
