Yep, it's not legally binding, that's literally the whole point.
Referenda are by definition advisory in this country, it would just be bizarre (not to mention political suicide) for a government to call a referendum and then not implement the result.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
why won't you let them get on with the implementation then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't you think it's obvious? Such a monumental political change must be subject to the closest of scrutiny - it's not an opportunity to give a government carte Blanche to do whatever they like.

it wasnt advisory, it was a final referendum to vote on whether to leave the EU.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please show me the extract from the Referndum Act 2015 which explicitly states the result of the referendum as being legally binding.

then you're contradicting yourself, you said it would be bizarre for a government to call a referendum and not implement the result but you dont want to let them get on with doing that.
Also Theresa May voted to remain so what exactly are you concerned about if she is leading the process?

Sizzle just needs to explain why we are now going back to the same people that voted 6 to 1 for the public to have the final say, none of them can answer this

Sizzle you are perfectly correct the British Laws should be absolutely gospel now, although technically we are still in Europe. The fact that the Brexiters are now moaning about British laws and British Judges says everything you need to know about them. They haven`t got a fecking clue what they voted for.

But I do happen to think that taking Britain back to the good old days of Victorian Britain may not be such a good thing
Bit ambitious there Sandy...had a bit of an empire going on then.

Whilst 95 per cent of the British population were in abject poverty. No thanks very much.
