Yes, it's hard to debate anyone over policies and plans when the first disagreement leads to calling me a racist or homophobe or anything along the lines of that.

Yes, imagine as a young child feeling you are not the same as everyone else. Having to subsequently repress these feelings in order to “fit in.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a school of thought which says that confused young children if left alone overcome their feelings and get on with life, but the involvement of specialists at young ages confuses the issue and creates problems.
And this sounds like the Pie video. No?
Sorry, I only saw the first comment and the last comment.

Defining transgender entirely as a mental disorder, or referring to trans people as simply “weird,” much like homosexuality used to be, hardly demonstrates acceptance.

Good game folks.
Homosexuality is an interesting debate because those who disagree with it, whether that be on moral grounds or religious etc, have basically been told that their view no longer counts.
Whilst I don't have any issue with it personally, I do find it odd that this view has now been given an objective status.
I think of it like the burka (and no, not in context) but whilst i disagree with its use, I can respect the wishes of those who uphold it.
Why isn't homosexuality treated in the same light?

Would you say a boy brought up as a girl is similar to anorexia then? He thinks he's a girl in reality but sees himself as a boy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would certainly fit the "confused" tag. But if he is a boy and sees himself as a boy then his physical reality and assumption are the same.
With anorexia the physuacl reality and assumption are different or opposite

imagine wanting to be soemthing you can never be.
like wanting to all of a sudden become a microwave.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know from a distance it seems weird, but there are so many variations in nature that make transgender seem positively bland. Reproductive biology now is beginning to refer to gender as more of a spectrum on which one may be on, rather than classical male or female.
In humans it isn't just a mental imbalance, but can be chromosomal due to anomalies in meiosis during gamete production by the parents. Take the south African woman. She's considered a woman but has a deep voice, possibly shaves and has massive testosterone production which makes her physically more male but still has two x chromosomes so generally considered a genetic female.
Is it weird? Maybe, but it is actually natural.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you not accept that there are degrees of male and female? I've given one much publicised example where a woman actually exhibits maleness. She apparently even has internalised testis which is why she is so strong relative to other female competitors.
You can say I'm reaching but I've actually changed the saxual organs of female fish into spermiating males. I'll be publishing my work in the new year. One crazy finding I made was that some of my control fish that didn't get a treatment also changed gender naturally. We've done some work to analyse why and it is population density dependent. Under certain population pressures some females become males. Think about in the context of humans now. Transgender wasn't really a thing in the past but in highly dense human cities, transgender issues are beginning to rise. We are placing artificial social constructs on a species which evolved to be nomadic living in small family groups. I believe along with some genetic factors, it is also a social behavioural factor in some cases, and unless we can all go live alone on deserted tropical islands, perhaps it is just better to treat transgender folk as just another human and let them live in peace.
Fack, gone on another rant. Sorry.
