We haven't had a player red carded in the league for years
Even Dembele didn't get sent off for the eye gouge, that was a retrospective ban.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Djemba Djemba would walk into your side right now ahead of Pogba tbf
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he wouldn't. Stop embarassing yourself
Weird angle this from the yanited fans, I accept a lot of criticism towards Spurs and certainly know Dier has his limits. Yet to call him timid, and worse than Djemba Djemba really is poor WUMming.
Dier is a decent player and fits in perfectly for what Poch wants. I'm sure had Spurs got Morgan we would be seeing a far more effective player. Some players just work better under certain managers and systems, I don't personally feel dier is a player who would fit into what we want, but he's still a good player.

Would love Morgan, quality player.
Not sure United have got the best out of him.
We haven't, for whatever reason we haven't seen him used or play the way he did well for Saints. Maybe there's an element of suffering playing at a bigger club, I'm not sure but whenever he has played he's been poor and is usually deployed a lot deeper than he was at Saints. LMayne he's just not good enough, I personally don't think that's the case but whatever is happening he's being wasted at United.
Soppy mancs are showing themselves right up here
Yes proper being shown up for thinking Dier is waaaank.
Stupid cockney muppet
Manc Python chomping and it's not even a wum
No one has said Dier is better than anyone yet the soppy mancs are chomping all over the place. They really are rattled at the moment
Jose's showing some positive signs while there are still areas that's aren't quite right. I'm still willing to give him time to get what he wants as the club have been a mess for 3 years now. It's a huge job that needs a bit of time and patience to get going.

Thoughts on Mourinho?
.................
Early days yet, but so far we have seen exactly what some of us expected.
If I were to mark him out of ten so far it would probably be a four.
I don't personally feel dier is a player who would fit into what we want, but he's still a good player.
-------------------------------------------------
As England's only reliable defensively minded midfielder, he's quickly become an important figure for the national side.
And although it's not saying an awful lot, he was one of very few players who had a decent tournament during the summer.
Limited yes but a steady player nonetheless.
Dier is a water carrier. No more, no less. He does what he does so that others can do what they do better.
I'm surprised anyone would want to say anything more about him.
For what it's worth Dier would allow our players, particularly Pogba, to do what they do more effectively than Ander Herrera can. Because that's what Herrera is as well, a water carrier.
The Red Side
Definitely has his limitations but is very solid.
What the uneducated / simple folks on here fail to understand is that Dier is a key part of the rock that is the Spurs defence. Even when playing as DM he is able to seemlessly drop in to the back 4 to either add numbers or to cover the wanderings of our ball playing CBs.
As a team who play with very advanced FBs, when a CB is drawn wide, Dier drops in to CB and we retain excellent defence shape even when being counter attacked.
As a former CB he is able to naturally switch between positions and this gives us great solidity at the back.
This very attribute does better allow the likes of Aldi & Verts to bring the ball out of defence and give the FBs the freedom to get so far forward, so often.
Spurs are able to achieve this defensive stability while also maintaining strong attacking threat, which is in contrast to LVGs Utd who managed similar defensive strength but at the expense of attacking threat...all those 0-0s at half time and the 2nd fewest goals scored in the top 12 last season, managing just 1 more goal than Sunderland.
£4m Dier has a winning attitude, can play across a number of positions, had experience of a title challenge, international football at the highest level and the Champions League, and is still just 22 years old.
He hasnt started this season in the same brilliant form of last season, but is exactly the type of player and character that good squads need....and I look forward to him exacting revenge on the dirty diving little cheat that is Herrera

after all, he only cost 17.8 times as much in transfer fees
