ooo, dunno if thats a good or a bad thing, probably good at the moment?
I swear I hardly seen rashford this season though. Is that because he's been poor or hasn't played much?
Mourinho has yet to match a result managed by LVG from last season. Hopefully this is the first time we do it.
Still a kid who shouldn't have too much expected of him, but saying that I hope he does lead the line and has the talent to do the job.

I think Rashford needs a rest. He is still very young and as pointed out above he has played more than anyone else since his debut and has also been very active in England squads (maybe not starting but being with the squads). He has went in less than a year from youth player to none stop first team and international duty. IMO he has looked leggy and out of form the last few matches. A break could do him the world of good.
If anyone is stopping Rashfords development its Mourinho playing him out of position and only in bit parts. No wonder his season is stuttering.

Huge game for United. Defeat could see you 9 points behind 4th place. As for Rashford, I still think he is better off wide left at the moment where he can isolate the fullback and drag CB's out of position.

There's no way he's better off out wide.

He's looked lost whenever I have seen him central.

Was that the 20 mins for England the other night?

You've never watched him then... he's far more effective up front than wide

Agree and its such a shame because the boy has serious talent! I would play him central over Ibra and Rooney.
I think Mourinho is also not playing to Martials strengths which is effecting him.
The future of our forward line is definitely Martial from the left and Rashford through the middle. If we could get Miki playing like he did for Dortmund on the right we'll be looking at something very special.
Also Pogba is starting to get into gear now. Some good games recently for us and France and quite a few nice goals too.
Rashford needs nothing other than to be played in his position.
He's just not a winger, especially in a side as static as ours.
He should be 2nd choice striker and Martial and Mikhi on the flanks.
I don't think playing wide is harming him too much, before last season he had always been a winger and showed often his effectiveness out wide for both England and United. I would prefer to see him central but he's only 18 and Zlatan is still a better striker ATM. Hopefully he gets a chance centrally tomorrow and puts pressure on Zlatan.

This
Mou is ruining this guy, far better than that slow lazy target man. He is not a winger.
I don't think Rashford playing wide in the reserves means much tbh.
He has never shown much form out wide for club, his biggest attribute is his movement and ability to make a yard in the box, he's also a great finisher.
Problem is, you leave him wide too long he will become stale, forget all the good things he's picked up.

He doesn't have enough in his locker to play the position that he is being asked to play and he's starting to look pretty woeful. Stick him in his actual position and I'm confident that he will look back to his old self.
Not just the reserves but according to Butt his entire life he was a winger untill last season. I'm not saying that's where I want him but like Martial he has the strengths to operate as both a central or wide forward IMO.
There are plenty of strikers who have developed their game with periods out wide. I do want to see Rashford get games centrally now and then but for now at the age of 18 I don't think it is that harmful to play him wide as game time is valuable.
It was clear we needed to bring a striker in this summer. Clear as day so we brought in Ibra which we needed as goals were scarce last season.
So the choices for Rashford were these..
1) a loan
2) being benched
3) playing as an inside right
Option 3 was the lesser of 3 evils
Personally, I think Rashford should be used out wide as a last resort.
There's been so many times taking Zlatan off for Rashford would have been ideal in the past few games.
