You will be welcome in the North Bank Wolfgang, as long as you don't wear your lederhosen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
very decent of you perton, i'll do my best to not wake you north bankers up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A pleasure Wolfgang and there's no chance of waking us up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As WG climbs the stairs the north bank will be awake, believe me !
It's a shame they removed those big cranes.

Football riddled with nonces

Heard years back that a certain person was murdered just before he was about to blow the lid on the whole thing. Others 'committed suicide' completely against the grain of their character.
Looking like a Savile scale paedophile ring has been operating within top level football for many decades, just as they do in top political circles.
Messi getting the plaudits for his 2 goals against Celtic. I'd suggest that scoring in a Barcelona team is a little easier than doing so in other sides. How would he fare on a cold wet night in Oldham?
I think Messi is quite good, I think he would improve Oldham. He has scored over 300 goals for Barca so I think it's him that has made Barca so good more than the other way round
With that many goals for one club he can be mentioned in the same breath as Bully
don't think messi could keep jed wallace out of the team tbh. wallace massively under-rated by three successive managers just shows that nobody in UK game can recognise a real number 10. portsmouth fans know the truth...jed can tear it up in div 4 which is equivalent to beating celtic.
at 320 goals from 357 games for barca little lionel still has to go a bit to catch the greatest goalscorer of all time, gerd muller with his 398 for bayern
even if he does match der bomber on club goals his 57 in 116 looks a bit feeble compared to mullers 68 in 62.
muller also has 2 world cup winners medals against zilch for lionel

* for his country
Muller was something else though - still think the best I have seen play "in the flesh" so to speak is Batistuta
54 in 77 for Argentina is pretty good going
can I throw in another great striker for us to consider if we're talking international legends that might compete with muller and batistuta..?

der bombers career 653 in 707 isnt hanging about either

179 in 555 - was he a fullback ?
Messi wouldn't have made it if he came to wolves though.

stats aren't everything
mariner was like the andy carroll of his day. unplayable by second division quality defenders the world over. plus he had a great mop of hair far outshining such modern day scalps as rooney and yordan letchkov. in fact, he was every bit muller's rival when it came to the all important floppy barnet.

No room for players like Batistuta now tino.
Goalscoring is a distant second to running all day long aimlessly.
may well be the case - but maybe I'm old fashioned, I like my strikers to score goals
Examples........
Benik Afobe
'Best player at the club in my ten years here' Edwards 2016.
'Lazy good for nothing toe rag' some fans 2016
Top wolves scorer 2015-16 season, left early January.
10 goals in last 25 games for club.
Bodvarsson and Doyle
'Work so hard all day' 'run those channels'. Some fans 2010-2016
10 goals in last 69 games for the club.

Couldn't agree more
I should probably add Pippo Inzaghi was one of my favourite every strikers - he may have been a but he was our
may not have got involved in the build up play, but boy could he finish
Romario my personal favourite, tawt didn't even turn up for training half the time but still managed 600 goals
I was a fan of Batistuta as well tino. Saw Roma beat Napoli one day 2-0 and he scored both
Not that Wolves know much about scoring goals. Only 41 from 39 games in 2016 so far. Top scorer in that time is Saville with 6
