And they can take Sunderland with them. The definition of a nothing club.

so glad this will hopefully send out a less age that you just come to defend you will get zilch. the defence have stopped leaking the punts and set piece goals and we rarely looked threatened

No idea how Pardew has survived this long.

Their record in 2016 is utterly abysmal, and he's spent a fortune too.

Been away most of the afternoon, just tuned in for the last five minutes. Great to see that Divock scored - gutting that Coutinho's out obviously but we have some incredible strength in depth up front.

Big Sam to be at Palace by next game I reckon.

Great win today for our lads against a surprisingly well organised Sunderland. To not have Coutinho, Lallana and Sturridge is a worry but some quality from Origi told. Great strength in depth although looking at the bench today I'm sure Klopp will want another body coming in January.

Sturridge will be fine for next week, he was touch and go for today.

Lallana is supposedly aiming at returning next week too.

Just looking at the replay and what a goal by Origi. He's been a warrior since coming on and he dug deep for that one, pulled out the rabbit and saved our bacon.

Also, clean sheet

Pardew could be sacked by tomorrow. Spent lots of money, 32m on Benteke and having the worst form among all divisions in 2016.

Nice to see young Ben getting a look in already.

Klopp on Coutinho: "It is an ankle injury but we can’t say anymore until we see a scan. Firmino got a knock on the calf as well."

Klopp: I am not sure if I have ever played against a more defensive team than today. Man marking Coutinho, Anichebe at left back...

Klopp on Coutinho: Pain gets better, already when I saw him at half time the pain was much better. We have to wait.

That's the result we want really, that or the draw!

I want a draw or Chelsea win.

I want the leading pack to consist of four, not five teams. That way you might not win the league but no chance of missing out on top 4. Being in the title race all season only to finish fifth would be terrible.

Having top 4 wrapped up early would mean less pressure in the last 5 or 10 games, which IMO would be absolutely monumental for a team in our position.

Completely disagree Mamba.

If we are in the title race there will be monumental pressure on us whether we are one of two or one of 8.

I'm not worried about 4th. I'm targeting first and I think the manager and players are too.

We might not get it, but I'd rather see genuine title rivals getting beat.

Spurs aren't going to win the title. Chelsea continuing to lose big games would be great for us as that's the one question mark against them this season so far, and they have Man City next.

Yeah but the possibility of finishing outside the CL places is additional pressure that we could do without.

good and they git zilch from us. I hope it has knackered them out a pity they don't have a game mid-week.
