When sky realise they have feked up and are looking for an alternative to WG Grace
Cook, Tendulkar, Bradman, Warne and Murali need to be in the top 5.

So wait a minute
Tendulkar in the top 5
Lara number 12
Ponting 30
Dravid 87
For me, these 4 were the best batsmen in the late 90s/early 2000s and their records are pretty similar too.
I don't understand why there is such a difference between these 4. Even if you think Tendulkar is the best of the 4 and Dravid the worst, there shouldn't be 80 places between them.

I think one day record is also taken into consideration. All those ton's in small Indian grounds give Sachin the edge.
I get that ODI record and the iconic status would push Tendulkar and even Lara higher than Ponting and Dravid, but just think it's way too much of a difference.
There was a point where even when Tendulkar and Lara were playing, everyone would talk about Dravid and Ponting.
I personally would put Lara and Tendulkar higher because they played so well in the 90s even if they were a little inconsistent. Most of Dravid and Ponting's great innings came after 2000 when the great fast bowlers of the 90s had either retired or were declining.
I would have Tendulkar and Lara in the lower half of the top 10, Ponting between 11-20 and Dravid between 21-30 or even late teens.
The whole list is a farce. Graeme Hick gets a notable mention when he averaged 31 in test cricket
As with all these lists, fast bowlers get treated badly. Imran Khan is in the top 10, but he was an all-rounder and captain and iconic.
He are my thoughts on the bowlers/
Wasim Akram is a bit low, should be in the top 10. Malcolm Marshall should also be top 10
Botham, Miller, Hadlee, Kapil Dev are all-rounders (their positions are ok, still slightly low).
Glenn McGrath, Waqar Younis, Lillee, Trueman should be top 20
Lohmann, Ambrose, Holding, Donald should be top 30
Joel Garner should be top 40
Pollock should be top 50
McDermott, Jeff Thompson should be top 100
I've probably missed many, many more.

Yes of course Courtney Walsh too, I think he should've been in the top 50.
Told ya, this list is prepared by Wahl Icht or his equivalent.
To be fair though, no list will make everyone happy, it's been mostly ok, but I think some English players in particular are too high. Hey, I love Geoff Boycott, but to put him above some of the players he is above, does not seem right. Same with Hobbs and eventually Grace, they are greats but too high in my opinion.
Players like Botham and Hammond are in their correctl places though.
McDermott top 100? Maybe for Aussie players only!
Even Thomson shouldn't be in it, though he does have his searing pace on his side.
I thought McDermott led the Australian attack really well in the early to mid 90s. McGrath, Fleming, Warne all came into the attack when McDermott was the leader.
Thompson had a great partnership with Lillee although to be fair I never saw him play properly (only when he was rubbish in 1985).
I would've put them both in the top 100, quite low but still there.
Mcdermott was a good bowler, but imo not a top 100 ever player. Players like Walsh, and Garner to name a few deserve to be ahead of him. Jimmy Anderson and maybe Broad are better bowlers than McDermott was.
Walsh and Garner definitely, that's why I would have them both in the top 50.
Anderson would be top 100 too and higher than McDermott I agree
Not sure about Broad though, I don't really feel he has led the England bowling attack and been a dependable go to man. He has had some amazing spells but has also very often gone missing.
There are only 100 places, so not everyone can get in. Who would you dispose of?
90 to 100, many of the players I haven't heard of to be fair. I would maybe keep Maurice Tate and De Villiers, others are out.
