This is the issue, I'm a business owner myself trying to make it on my own, I've never claimed benefit, I lived totally off my savings and money earned.
I've sacrificed going on holidays, eating in nice restaurants, sometimes I only have £10 to last me 2 weeks.
If I were ever taxed that much, I would definitely leave the US.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you live in a low tax environment and sometimes live off £5 a week.
But if you earned approximately $96,000 A WEEK after paying a marginal tax rate of 70% without any deductions then you'd flee the country back to a place where you sometimes have just £5.
That is what you're saying, no?
I don't want to cast aspersions, please can you explain to me this rationale. I simply do not understand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't get your question.

I thought the left and socialism was less of a dirty word, but Donald named them as enemies of America and folk listen

Tbbab..
It's amazing, how millions of impoverished Americans fear having the wealth they don't yet have taxed.
It's how pervasive the idea of the American dream really is. One story about a guy who shined shoes and cleaned toilets and went on to become a billionaire and folk lap it up.
For every one of them there is thousands of the guy with two jobs who slips on ice, breaks a leg, loses his jobs ends out with $12,000 medical bill, can't pay his rent and ends up on the streets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank heaven for the NHS and dole!

So true, TBBAB.
I've luckily not had to rely on either but members of my immediate family have. In my early teens my mum had multiple cancer operations, chemo and radiation therapies, in and out of hospital for a couple of years, and the Oz NHS saved her life.
As you may recall from our previous chats, I'm one of five kids and my dad is a C of E minister, so there was no money for private health. However, in the early 90s in Oz private health wasn't necessary.
After she recovered and my siblings and I all left home, she went back to work and has spent most of the last two decades dedicating her life to public health services. She's even been recognised at state and national levels in Australian of the Year honour rolls.
She now earns a lot of money. As a Christian she tithes; and also intentionally doesn't buy private health insurance. As a result she pays far more tax than she could and gets audited every year as the tax department never believe she would give away so much money each year.
Her reasoning is the same every year. If it wasn't for the Oz- NHS, she'd be dead, so every bit she gives means someone like her might not die.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your mum sounds like a superstar.
More power to her and those like her.

So trump is going declare a national emergency to get his wall built?
Gross misuse of power anyone?
Stats show by far the greatest number of illegal migrants in the us are those who stay after their visa’s expire, not those coming from the southern border.

Exactly, Baz. It's entirely Trump's fault. To partly blame the other side is a pissweak excuse
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump: we’ll build a wall, mixivo will pay for it!
Mexico: Fack off you orange imbecile.
Trump: we’ll pay for the wall, I need 5.8bn
Democrats: don’t be facking stupid you overgrown Oompa Loompa.
Trump: err..it’s a national emergency! I’ll fabricate some bullsheite to get the funds!
I'm not blaming the other side. More they still don't know how to capitalise properly on anything stupid he says/does.
It's a stand off, they were happy to spend more on a shutdown than what he wanted on a wall so that didn't help their case for many
Either way I'd be shocked if it ever does turn into a national emergency

If people are worried about the "caravan" then it's an easy win for him as he's been seen to say it's a problem and can blame the Dems for arguing it. Republicans need to learn from the Clinton mistakes if they are Gunna beat him in 2020

Baz, he actually started at $25 billion first, then dropped down to 5.7.
It's totally bizarre. He also seems to be terrified of Ann Coulter too. First female president (by proxy) hehehe

Yeah, she’s a facking nut job. I read somewhere all the women in his life have always been mollified types who are very placid, and he has no idea how to handle strong intelligent women (not that coulter is).

There's a lot of merit in those observations.
I dislike pretty much everything Coulter says, but I do think she's a very strong woman and also quite smart. Sadly she uses these traits for largely financial gain though. She's made a reputation for being an incendiary antagonist and she does it really well.
