There was of course and entirely intentional elbow direct to the face of Hazard.

Oh here comes the double standards

Gabriel was just using his arms to balance himself, not his fault Hazard was weak into the challenge.

They were standing still, feet planted on the floor. Chelsea got the foul, amazingly he didn't see a card.

Alonso shouldn't have been on the pitch anyway

What, they were just standing there? Pretty sure they were challenging for the ball and Gabriel was fending his opponent off.

Yeah, with an elbow to the face.

posted on 5/2/17

Wasn't an elbow, it was just the momentum of the stronger player.
If someone is trying to challenge from behind it is natural to protect with you arms.

Don't know what the current laws say about it, but for me that sort of thing shouldn't be a foul.

Both players jump in the same manner with arms up in the air to aid their leap, but Bellerin's was just far weaker and lost the battle.

If that's a foul, don't really know where you'd draw the line in terms of aerial battling.

Law 12.

Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the
ball, threatens injure to someone (including the player themselves) and includes
preventing a nearby opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury.

As Bellerin was injured. In fact concussed it was a foul according to the rules. Tyler and Neville should really learn the rules of the game before commentating. It was one the worst punditry performances in recent history on Sky. Kind of stuff you expect from BT.

Love how Ronaldo leads with his arms everytime...

Thats how to head a ball fairly without endangering an opponent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, because every player has Ronaldo's athleticism.

Bellerin just wasn't prepared, he went too early, had no idea Alonso was charging in and in the process got clattered by, and lost out to, a man that wanted it more. He is the embodiment of Arsenal. Not seen any pundit, including gooner ones, say it was a foul, just the pansies on here that spend most of the match threads claiming there's a conspiracy against Arsenal and the refs are cheating them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this.

Yes the good old "wanted it more" - ie he was willing to smash his opponent in the face with his arm before heading the ball. That is a foul plain and simple.
If the contact was after the header you may have more of a point, but the fact Alonso wipes Bellerin out and then heads it makes it a clear cut foul.

Funny how Xhaka "wanting it more" is never an excuse

Nothing to do with athleticism, it is all about heading the ball in the correct manner.

Bloody obvious Alonso lead with the elbow and caught Bellerin before he headed the ball. Not sure where this unprepared rubbish comes from apart from rubbish spouted by Neville who didn't see the proper angle. It was a foul all day long. Arguable if it was yellow. But it was a foul in any era.

You are so deluded it is untrue, Hazard was behind him and he swung an elbow up in to his face. The ref gave a foul.

The consensus is if you're a neutral it's a foul, if you're a Chelsea fan spurs fan or a wenger hating fan looking for an excuse to bash your own team then it wasn't a foul. There are many fans who after initially were brainwashed by the commentary to think it wasnt a foul have had time to reasses and use their own mind

Oh, so Gabriel now has eyes in the back of his head

Momentum, strength and natural movements are now no longer allowed?

I told everyone yesterday the would start

Alonso jumps higher and wins a 50/50

The reason why bells hands arent near Alonso is quite simple, the arsenal affect, in otherwords a poor attempt at trying to win something, his arms are clearly up he just doesnt get the height. He loses a 50/50 badly get over it.

Droog you won the match easily. The foul didn't change much just stop being biased and stop denying what is obvious. It was a foul pal. Bringing up the elbow on your player shows you're in denial and being defensive. Alonso connected with elbow before heading the ball. %100 foul if you connect or go through another player before connecting with the ball. Come on mate

Exactly, using The Droogs own statement against him.
