Got beat did you.

Ha fwcking ha.

Succinct and to the point AJ.

I was pleased to see that Hughes played well. And Mason Bennet perhaps needs a run. And Nugent.
back a fit Bryson?

Should have been - When do we get back a fit Bryson?

Not trying to emulate your reports 3R, but as the West Brom and aptly described Villa fan (who probably wasn't there) point out, we lost

AJ knows

Wasn't there but I'll take your word for it

It was just tedious...... AGAIN. Clement seemingly got sacked for too negative, backwards, sideways play. I see NO improvement from this at all at present. Just saying.

We must be averaging 1-2 chances per game of late.

Pathetic, boring and not good enough.

Certainly not a good advert for ST sales.

And Bent is a cart-horse.

AJ, No problem mate, your impressions were valuable and appreciated. Thanks

AJ you are forgetting about judas playing out of form players... how the hell Russell gets in that side is unbelievable jeff

I thought Russell played well. I'm fed up with folk constantly criticising our best left winger. He is miles better than Anya and Camara. I agree that Lowe was poor but it's nice to see some young players given a chance.

I just think that individually we have brilliant players.

However, the sum of these players does not get anywhere near what their total individual brilliance should accumulate.

In other words, right players playing in the wrong team or wrong players playing in the right team.

Russell did not play well. He spent most of the first half beating no players and falling over. He can't cross a ball, his pace and confidence have gone and he seems to have lost the ability to shoot on target. He needs to move on. He's not become a bad player, but I think he'd be better off with a new challenge.

Made a refreshing change that we conceded from a corner. Bent should have had a penalty.

Having said all that AJ, Russell is still better than Blackman, Anya, Camara, Yman and Vydra.

I think he will come good like Ince did.

posted on 26/2/17

This is true. Although Russell is marginally better than Anya. And they are both much better than the rest.

VC10 knows his Jocks

To me the problem is that they do not play as a team, just a bunch of individuals, often selfish. Ince, who is undoubtedly one of our better players, almost never passes to players who may be better placed. He seems to think only he can score.

And of course we spend a lot of time passing sideways and back. That's fine as far as it goes but whilst we do that their defence is busy getting organised. We had 72% possession in the Villa game. We need to move the ball more quickly which means running off the ball.

You are right 3Rs, I am fed up with all this pass it along the back 4 a few times, pass it to the defensive midfielder who then passes it back to Carson, for it all to start over again.

When Mac came before he got a good team spirit going, it might have already been there, but now things look very disjointed.

I think Ince could be right, he is about the only one who can score, maybe Bent from near the goal, but the others couldn't score in a brothel.

What about the bloke who scored, errrr thingy, how did he play?

Chester, why?
How's your latest takeover bid going anyway ??

Just a word of advice RFB. You are spreading yourself too thinly.

Yes I forgot, we should of signed Chester. He was all over the pitch, good player IMHO!

60 odd % possesion v Burton...70 odd % possession v Villa. No goals. Here's my take on it. Our midfield 3 are all ball players. Comfortable and nice. Not 1 in the last 3 games has broke into the box. All 3 of them are playing infront of their midfield & defence. Easy to read. Now is that happening because we know Bent is never gonna hold a ball up or bring other players into the game? I think so. If Bent does not score he contributes very little. Our midfield can not play off him. I havent seen him hardly hold one ball up. If we had Bryson and Martin yesterday and last Tuesday in place of Butterfield & Bent i would confidently predict we would be sitting here now 5 points better off from the last 2 games. If Ince does not conjure up a bit of magic then we look so predictable. Many didnt like Martin...thats their opinion...but he could hold a ball..play people in and buy the odd free kick. The midfield could gamble. They cant gamble of Bent one bit. Russell is out of form as has been said..and Bennett did more in 20 mins really. McClaren needs a summer to start sorting out the inbalance.

Good to hear from you, Backo
From what you've seen, and even if it's not his natural position, would Nugent be a better option for the front role, for the rest of the season ?

Alright Ang

For me Nugent is a better option. Nugent is busy, makes clever little darts and joins in open play. Its seems odd to be being negative about Bent as he has scored goals but the system we play it relies on the centre forward. Bent does not do enough for me.
