Of our starting eleven I have faith in these guys..
Ddg
Bailly
Pogba
Herrera
Micky
Ibra
The likes of
Martial
Shaw
Jones
Rashford
All have the ability to stick around too.
Carrick is a legend but I think he's off this summer. I just can't see it with Smalling
Bailly has a LOT to prove as of yet, he's extremely rash at times
No, I think the broken leg has been a perfectly valid excuse, it was a particularly bad one. He's never had a run of games since, he's not been great when given the chance but better than Rojo. He was a great prospect and can be again with the right handling.
I think we'll sign a new left back this summer. Don't think Mourinho is convinced by any of our options there.
A centre back (maybe two)
--------
That's a worry considering we have at least 6 to pick from
Considering our defence has done quite well even with our options bodes well if we bring in more quality.
Hopefully we get Van Dijk, I think he's just the defender we need in the back four. Would put less emphasis on our dm having to be a ball player also, if we're looking at more of a destroyer type, as Van Dijk is very good at playing out from the back.
I wouldn't even say Herrera and kante are playing the same role though, so I'm not really sure why you're comparing them.
But depends what you want, a more offensive midfielder it goes to Herrera, more defensive then Kante.

I hold out hope Klopp will see sense and bin either lovren or Klavan and pay what's needed for Van Dijk. I still think Jose will go back in for Lindelof personally.
I don't think Van Dijk will go to Liverpool. Think he'll end up at either one of us, City or Chelsea.
Don't know enough about Lindelof to comment on whether he's what we need. But even then, I wouldn't be surpised to see a couple of cb's brought in over the coming transfer windows.
If we have signed Kante, would Herrera be asked to do the role he has been doing now? In my opinion, no. Jose had a preference in mind, it's why Fellaini was used first to partner Pogba. Herrera would have been back up to Pogba if we had bought Kante. So what we have is a player adapting to a new role. His current role is also slightly different than Kante's. He's not just expected to put out fires. Kante, though, is the ultimate cog. When he plays, other players know what he can do and play their game, relying on him.
Kante easily... Stats don't do him justice. He's just about the most intelligent player in the PL. Reads the game (defensively) better than anyone. That's why he wins the ball back so often without having to put in a tackle. Creates 2 on 1s all over the pitch and just walks away with the ball, hence his only been booked like once all season (not sure he even got booked last season). Like taking candy from a baby...
No competition at all...
That being said Herrera is a most offensive minded player (imo) being asked to do a more defensive role, so it's a bit of an unfair comparison.
Would take Kante over him all day everyday...

I don't disagree.
Still, dreams are free. Him and matip would make a good partnership. Still wouldn't fix our defensive issues but will help them.
I've seen bits of lindelof, looks talented but would need to see a lot more before passing judgement. I think Jose could look to Manolas as another option as well, I believe Chelsea were interested under mourinho.
I would suggest the stats tell a very different stort. I've not seen Herrera play all that much but I'll tell you about Kante.
He covers every blade of grass and pops up everywhere and is always in the right place at the right time because his positioning and awareness is excellent. Deeney said that whenever he had the ball it was always in the front of his mind that Kante would be on him, even if he wasn't. Just thinking he's there was enough for players to rush and make mistakes. He also breeds confidence in his team mates because they know he'll always be there covering.
Ndidi > Kante stats would suggest there's not a lot between them and Ndidi is actually better in several areas but Kante's passing stats are significantly better.

He's not even hafi considering the first stat I bothered to check is incorrect.
Interceptions on the Pl site,
herrera 67 and kante 58 rather than 70 to 56. Not a massive difference but can we trust your other "stats" OP?
Tackles
herrera - 65
Kante - 91
So the whole OP is just a lie?
Passing -
Ander Herrera 1,642
N'Golo Kanté 1,551
OP where did u get your stats?

Genuinely not. I got the whole load of stats off another site. I'd gladly hold my hands up and be proven wrong if needs be.
In the OP I'm not trying to do a hatchet job on Kante. I say in the Op I think he's awesome. I just wanted to see what people thought based on these stats. Here is where I got them from.

Anybody with a pair of eyes can see Kante has been the superior player this season.
Obviously if you just watch one or look at stats, your view can be skewed.

It's as if people won't accept an opinion on a player without any statistics to back it up. It's not enough to watch players and judge them for yourself, nowadays you have to check passing stats, interceptions, chances created etc etc.
It becomes tedious discussing footballers when it boils down to son numbers on a page.
Everyone should leave the facking stats to Hafi
Completely agree Tiddler. Stats weren't available when I watched George, Dennis, Bobby, Robbo, but everyone knew they were great. Even as late as RVN I only remember goals scored, not assists etc. Goal scoring records have always been known, but nothing else.
The stats in the article appear to be wrong.
