Don't cry,

Maybe it's that they had other targets in mind at that time but can afford to miss out as they have the financial muscle to buy him later if they wanted?

posted on 10/3/17

How can they take the risk just because they have money in the bank?

Whats saying he would choose Utd now because if he did become available Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern, Man City and Chelsea would all love him and could afford him.

You cant be that arrogant to think that they have a right to him just because they could afford him.

The bottom line is every club in Europe apart from Athletico made a mistake when he was told he could go at Real Sociedad.

All clubs make mistakes even cubs who have endless money.

I don't mean you being arrogant I mean the club being arrogant........

Don't think you are getting it tbh

No one is saying they have a right to him but they can afford to miss out ( for what ever reason ) because if they wanted to potentially buy him later on.

Us on the other hand cannot. If we miss out early on then we have no second chance later on.

Its like the lovely house for sale at the end of the road - Ive been for a viewing, the owners have offers on the table I could afford it now but ill leave it for a year. Ive got the money sitting in the bank waiting, no one else will buy it.

A year later....... Oh crap someone bought it, fitted a new kitchen, added an extension and its now on sale again for twice the original asking price.

No completely wrong

Clearly not getting it so I'm leaving it here

Is that how you end a debate Hengy by declaring that I'm completely wrong meaning you are completely right?

Your completely arrogant

No it's just going round in circles and your aren't getting what I'm saying

Plus that analogy is completely wrong ( and stupid )

Is that how you finish a debate with someone in real life person to person with a "your completely wrong" and a give them a thumbs up. Because I'm not to sure many people would take to that kind of action.

But then again we are typing on our keyboards.

Ok ledders lets just talk about Griezman then.

You still stand by your response that they passed up the opportunity to sign him years ago because they will just wait and buy him when he is the finished article? Because they have the money to do so?

Why do they still sign players who are young with potential and not the finished article then? (wont mention names)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

United were chasing the likes of Bale, Thiago, Fabregas, Baines and Herrera if I recall correctly in the summer of 2013. They ended up with Fellaini and then Mata in Jan 2014. How many of those were young, unproven potential for small fees in comparison to proven and expensive players?

That same summer Chelsea went and got Eto'o, Schwarzer, Willian and Schurrle, then bought Matic and Salah in January 2014. How many of those were expensive and/or proven players in comparison to unproven potential?

We shop in a different market to them. They can drift between the pair of them whereas we don't really have that luxury. I thought that was quite obvious.

Wtf are you going on about

Okay I'll explain once again the you can disagree and we can agree to disagree, hug & shake hands and leave it like that.

This is for any player.

Man U have a list of 2 potential superstars

Man U buy 1 of the list thus letting the other go to another club.

They can do that because they know if the other one goes off and becomes a world class player they have the financial clout to go out and buy him later on for a significant fee.

There obviously other factors involved but they can match and beat any other club in the world financially.

However us on the other hand cannot do that. If we miss out in the early potential stage then we cannot financially compete for him later on.

For the amount of money they spent they should hope he gets a lot better

posted on 10/3/17

You think Pogba is the finished article? Really ?

Name me a game that Pogba has dominated form start to finish or a game that you thought wow what a world class player.

Be honest would you swap Dele Alli for him?

posted on 10/3/17

Well he was at Juve.

Man Utd vs Leicester.

Yes.

Pogba has a nice pass on him, no doubt about that and has a trick or two to beat an opponent.

However how many times does he let runners slip past him? how many goals or assists that you would expect form the modern day cm who is the finished article?

posted on 10/3/17

When Pogba was at Juve he stood out in a very poor league.
Pogba had a very average Euros, upstaged by Griezman and Payet and wait for it Sissoko......

You talk about ONE game against Leicester where you think he dominated but Mkytaryan got MOTM as he ran them ragged.

How many on here reckon Pogba is the finished article?

posted on 10/3/17

Depends on the CM, Xavi was the finished article and got few.

Pretty sure he broke the assist record in the Serie A last season? He may not have had a great season so far, but lets not pretend he wasn't one of the best players in the world at Juve.

there's no such thing as a finished article. a player can always improve

WTF is your problem? You asked me to name one game:

'Name me a game that Pogba has dominated form start to finish or a game that you thought wow what a world class player.'

Now you are saying I only talk about ONE game !

A poor league which has done better in Europe over the past few seasons than we have.......

He was OK at the Euros. Harry Kane was craaap, and so was Dele Alli. Yet you forgive them as it was one tournament but criticise Pogba with the same reasoning?

posted on 10/3/17

Have I at any point said that Kane or Alli are the finished article ???? Please find out where I said this.

Great talents but along way to go in the game. You ridiculed me when I said that Pogba wasn't the finished article.
Apart form his passing what does he excel at?

He's got more tramlines in his hair than goals this season. All hype and circus at the moment.

Two different types of players you sign for potential

Players with world class potential that are already good enough for the 1st team but are also expected to push on much further than they already are.

Players not good enough for the 1st team yet but signed with a view to develop them to the point where they can hold a starting spot
