Wenger: 'I'm disappointed + determined to put things right. And tonight the worry is not me, it's the fact that we lost a big game.'

I think this quote would worry me more as an Arsenal fan.

This f°cking guy...

Thing is, most of us knew he was staying weeks ago.

Tonight, he has more or less confirmed it.

I`d give him a contract for life

It's been pretty obvious for a while now that he's staying.

I honestly thought he'd announce he's not signing after the Bayern humiliation (this season's humiliation, the second one). But since then it's been a PR spin.

We ALL know he's staying, he'll cling to office & that £160k a week like a limpet...

@unibet
#Arsenal have conceded 3 or more goals in 4 consecutive away matches for the first time since 1929

If not the last 10 humiliations, then why would this one change anything?

Just hope the board have enough about them to withdraw the offer.

And that's the problem. I honestly don't think they do.

As long as the Yankee has the majority of club shares at Arsenal nothing change.

I noticed that Usmanov has stuck his head out to blame Kroenke for the current mess we're in.

And to think Wenger said he wouldn't work under an Usmanov type of owner...

Wenger had that smirk on his face again when they asked him about his contract

There is absolutely no coaching going on at the moment. You could tell that from the WBA game. Its an obviously free for all. Renieri pointed it out in the analysis. No positioning or tactical coaching whatsoever.

Now either Wenger has downed tools, told the players he is going and we are in that phase where no one cares as Walcott alluded to about the dressing room or Wenger has not decided which is almost doing the same.

It needs to be sorted one way or the other. I hope Wenger is gone but as the club is not being linked to any manager I fear the board are in the dark as much as we are. What a way to run the club.

Walcott: "Like I said before this isn’t Arsenal at this moment in time."

The fact is this IS Arsenal and has been for a few years, we are just in a concentrated period of being this Arsenal....

you and I both know AW is staying, I am genuinely interested as to how the man and the club spin it in any sort of positive way. I would guess only an FA cup win could possibly do it, but I just don't think he has enough good will in the bank anymore....

I dread to think what will happen opening game next season if we get beat.....

My point is if Wenger is staying why hasn't he confirmed it? Nothing to gain even more to lose by leaving it in limbo because the players are obviously in the dark as much as everyone else.

Who says there's any logic in his decision-making? He's desperate to cling on to the job. He is staying and is simply waiting for the right time to announce it, as damaging as it may be in the short-term. He's in too deep now to back out.

Wenger has created an unneeded distraction and it is obviously affecting the players. So if he was staying he knows he will not have the Champions League to fall back on because of the negative affect not only his but Ozil, and Alexis are also having. To an extent he admitted to that when he talked about professionalism to the last day of your contract. I suspect he is either going upstairs or out. Think the board are also probably talking to possible replacements through their back channels. I just don't see any justification of keeping us or the players in the dark. If the players knew we would all know by now!

Not sure how that works. If Wenger had signed the contract he would tell the players or it would have leaked out from the myriad of sources that need to involved like lawyers.

I don't know if it's been signed or not. But all this dithering and delaying is clearly not the sign of a man who has decided to leave. Rather someone who wants to stay but (rightfully) is aware that now is absolutely not the right time to announce it.

posted on 11/4/17

Its not about announcing to the public. Its about telling the players especially their agents as we are close enough to the end of the season for negotiations to begin with those whose contracts are ending, or those who are planning to leave. Thats why I don't think he is staying, at least not in his present role.
