Or if you want to feel better, remember the days of AVB and Christian Gross! "

And this is exactly my point about supporters failure mentality. Everyone always refers back to the 90s but we are a completely different team/club now. This Spurs side should be winning stuff but unfortunately we lack that winning mentality to push us over the line every single season.

No it's 5 s from me Don mate.

Spurs have a very good balanced team. This side just lack that experience to break the barrier that takes you to the next level, otherwise this is one of the best footballing side that Spurs have had in my living memory.

As Spurs fan enjoy the ride and hope that they can keep it up and you will eventually get there.

We've proven we can win big games in the league, where our performances and results have improved over the big teams under Poch, but we haven't managed to transition this very well away from the league to cup games. This is now the 4th time in a cup game under Poch we've gone out to the first big club we've faced.

also Maureen has no respect for reputations he will play the team he believes can win even if it means leaving stars on the bench

Our mentality has improved I agree but we still fail at the last hurdle every single time. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see Chelsea drop points in the next 2 games only for Spurs to mess up going top by losing to Arsenal. This is the kind of scenario all to familiar with Spurs.

Why can't we all just say yes we were the better team but Chelsea took there chances we didn't ', that should be drilled into anyone ever laced up a pair of boots , regardless of what level of football you have played at.

Poch needs to fire up the lads for Wednesday

I don't think you can put yesterday down to a lack of a winning mentality. The truth is that we outplayed the league leaders but just didn't get the breaks over the course of the match. It wasn't just the manner of their goals but the times at which they scored them.

This wasn't a bottle job like the last semi-final against Chelsea or the one against Portsmouth. It was a match between two very good sides that was decided by fine margins and moments of fortune, as most such matches are and in fairness, as were the two league encounters.

We have the strongest and most consistent team I've ever seen in my time as a Spurs fan, we are clearly making progress and with a few additions (Poch doesn't have a good enough forward option on the bench to change things if Son starts) will come back even stronger next season.

I don't think saying that betrays a lack of a winning mentality. It is simply a realistic appraisal of yesterday's match and of our current situation.

We are the Newcastle of the South

I can't remember a big game we've won since city away in 2010 to get CL

Conte, loving this Spurs side mate but just feel disappointed by them every season because we just can't ever seem to jump over that last hurdle.

Sir tottenham, totally agree mate.... when the going gets tough Spurs never turn up. Yes we might turn up as in performance but we never get the result. A record 7 Fa cup semi final losses is embarrassing sorry.

Your record in big games in the league is nowt to shout about.

Won 4 out of 10 games against fellow top 6 sides last season and 3 out of 9 this season.

Your record is ok but not impressive.

Wouldn't even say spurs were much then better team. Don't remember tc making a Save and spurs having a sitter like costa missed near the end. Definitely edged the game but not much better. Chelsea were better team in first 15 and last 15. Enough to win the game

Nick, you were on the backfoot pretty much the whole game mate. Spurs were by far the better team last night. That being said it makes no difference as you are through.

Even all the draws away are decent results compared to capitulations of the past. Haven't been beaten by Arsenal in the league yet under Poch, and even if only one of those is a win, we'd have lost one or more by a consideral margin by now under previous management.

Results and performances have improved overall.

These things take a long time to overcome.

However, we have certainly made progress. A few years ago coming top 4 was beyond us, now we're doing it pretty easily. We used to lose to Arsenal every game, now they rarely beat us.

It's a real shame we lost, but a combination of poor decisions by Poch and their superior squad beat us yesterday. At least we're now getting into title races/cup semi's.

Sooner or later we will win something if we keep this up. Just need to keep going. And when we do win it will be even sweeter. Look at Sergio Garcia the other week, if you keep going it will come.

One away win in ten though shows it's not surprising you aren't winning anything.

To win a domestic cup or European trophy you will probably have to beat a top aide away from WHL, unless you get very lucky draws and a crap team gets to a final.

Not much improvement happening in that away record to suggest you are getting there.

At least we're in with a shout of the title and can get mildly excited about the remote possibility of catching Chelsea. If we were in say Liverpool's position then the season literally would be over.

How is our season over? We have top 4 to fight for, which, if we get, means our season would amount to get same as spurs.

True
