I'm no Perton apologist Tam, but he's clearly not saying that.
Sheffield Utd for Coady is a strange one, maybe if they offered good money, its an area we have cover in especially when Ofusu Ayeh is fit. Spiers reckons Wolves have rejected the offer, but will be interesting to see how determined they are.
Coady to centre back was something nobody predicted but he has done well there so far. He will have a testing game against Chris Martin on Saturday though. If the club are in any way considering selling him I would have thought they would wait until the end of the window to see how things go.
In considering how many more players we offload we do have to have in mind that if we were to get promoted it would be because of a squad of at least 20 players not just a team of 11 and I would see Coady playing his part even if he doesn't hold the first choice centre back shirt. Same applies to the likes of Batth and Edwards despite some of the drivel that gets written about them

Is he not. I interpret the statement: 'it just shows how poor all our manager's have been since Colin Lee;' as saying everyone since has been inferior to him.
In much the same way I would interpret anyone stating something like 'it just shows how poor music has been since Elvis Presley' as saying everything since Elvis has been inferior.
Is there a different way to interpret that sort of statement?

I would be loath to get rid of Coady at the moment. He is versatile and can cover a number of roles. He has also come into his own in the new system and is one of the few from the old regime to show he has a part to play.
In terms of Chris Martin, what system do Derby play now? Is he still a lone striker? From memory he tends to try to pull the centre backs into wide positions to isolate them and play physical, so I imagine he will come up against Boly and Miranda more so, with Coady covering.
Martin appears to have played as the central striker of a front three last week for Derby. He is very good with his back to goal bringing other players into play and I suspect he will place himself against Coady, certainly in preference to Boly, as he would see him as potentially more vulnerable under pressure.
Saying "national dictators since Genghis Khan have been particularly nasty people" is not the same as saying "all dictators since the Mongol leader have been more horrific", although Adolf Hitler and Joe Stalin might claim a mention.

I interpreted it the same way, Tamwolf. I decided not to respond to it when I read it this morning as I upset pertonwolf yesterday when I picked him up on some drivel he'd written about Nuno being the only Wolves manager to win his first three home games 1-0 whilst including friendlies.
As a relatively new poster here, I don't get all the agendas, positionings, posturings and the like, however I can safely say that if pertonwolf or any other poster believes that Colin Lee was a better manager than McCarthy, Dave Jones or even Kenny Jackett then they are a sandwich short of a picnic. I would even argue that Hoddle and Lambert were better managers than Lee!
According to wikipaedia, Colin Lee is currently head of football at South Dartmoor Community College in Ashburton, Devon

The petty squabbling displayed above would welcomed on the match threads !
Next instalment coming on Saturday
The good news is that the 24 hours of torrential storms have passed over beefa, and I'm just having a beer to celebrate
Don't see Coady being available for transfer as things stand as Nuno clearly rates him and I wouldn't be surprised if he is the one to step.onto Saiss shoes if he were to be injured.
Batth and Edwards would certainly be available for transfer at this stage I would have thought if bids came in though.
*into not onto.........that would be Coady of last season.

I would have thought Saiss is the cover for Coady in the that defensive position, with Price stepping into midfield.
I think those two are quite similar in that they can start attacks by playing balls out from the back and they both have the defensive nous to play there. I actually think Saiss would be better there than he is in midfield to be honest, in the same way Coady seems to be.

I kind of think Price is the Neves cover more so than the Saiss one really but yeah I could see your suggestion happening possibly though I think Bennett is probably first reserve from a defensive standpoint as it stands.
Would like another midfielder brought in as well as a forward if we have that luxury and interested to see what becomes or Hause, is he still injured?

I thought Saiss played well against Boro but the important question is whether he can do so consistently, which he certainly didn't manage last season. I could see him as a defender but maybe in one of the wider positions with Boly or Miranda moving to the middle.
I could see Price or Ronan playing alongside Neves and would prefer them to Saiss. At the moment the team is a little too weighted towards the defensive for me, and it would be good to see a more positive player in central midfield.
Neves and Ronan playing behind Costa, Jota and a new striker would be the ideal for me in due course.
Can't see Nuno letting Coady go at this stage after he has spent the whole pre-season schooling him into his current CB position and giving him the captain's armband. Sheff U are probably only trying it on because they know that Coady is out of contract at the end of the season. My guess would be that Nuno will reject any bids unless they are stupidly big and offer Coady a new contract in the coming weeks/months.

I wouldn't worry DJ. The US military has your back. You just hunker down in your bunker and we'll let you know when to come out again.
It would be silly to let Coady go having played him and given him the armband as a central CB. It's also true that Saiss can play on the left side of a back three, should Coady go and move either Boly or Miranda in that position.
All irrelevent imo, as I just don't see Wolves letting him go to a rival club.
So bid rejected but his contract is up in the summer.

As it stands Neves is the one with license to move forward and I think we will see plenty of attacking intent from him as the season moves on and Saiss locks down midfield.
Ronan has been my favourite for a midfield birth for a while but not sure now we set up like this as I think he would be far better as a ten in a 4-2-3-1 which I still think would be our best formation.
