Was the 2005 Ashes when England actually had fast bowlers, and I mean fast? Harmison, Flintoff and Jones?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. Pretty scary attack really. And when Jones got injured we brought in Anderson! And one of those bowlers was also one of our highest run scorers.
The reason I love that series is because the aussies were an incredible team with players like Ponting, Gilchrist, Langer, McGrath, Warne - all at the top of their game. And we beat them. Amazing standard of cricket.
Jones was a quality bowler shame he couldn't shake the injuries.

Is that a new cricket game? 20 year game at one place, 20 years at another?
20/20 is actually alright. Still a bit glacial paced but they do go for it. Test cricket lasts ice ages. Just an excuse for a mass puss up.
I only saw Fred Trueman live once, Engtland v West Indies at Lords in 1963. W Indies won by 5 runs. They had Hall and Griffiths. We had Trueman. He was our attack, 11 wickets for the match. Great fast bowling by a great fast bowler; speed, skill, technique, intensity.
I saw George Best a few times. The match which sticks in the mind was Chelsea v Man U at Stamford Bridge. Best was the best (pun intended) footballer I've ever seen. Speed, balance, skill and vision. At the match at one point he started on the halfway line out on the wing, and simply ran straight through the opposition and eventually trundled the ball into the net. Unforgettable.
Then there's Mohammed Ali. The Liston fights were sensational, but it's the Rumble in the Jungle I remember most of all.
Mo Farrah, 2012 Olympics.
Wiggins in the Yellow Jersey leading out Cavendish in the World Champs jersey to win the final stage in Paris. 2012 TdF
Federer vs Nadal, 2008. Just incredible.
Torvill and Dean doing the Bolero.
Heartbreaking.
Agassi winning Wimbledon.
Ivanisevic winning Wimbledon.
Wigan crushing Bradford Northern in the Challenge Cup semi-detached final of 1991 at Burnden Park.
I did enjoy the 2005 Ashes as well. First time I've really watched cricket and there was some great drama. Must admit, I still only bother with the Ashes.
