One of the more obscure moments which I thoroughly enjoyed was the 2002 winter Olympics I think it was the one. Steven Bradbury winning gold for Australia in the speed skating. He was the least likely of all the finalists to win the final being the rank outsider. However the other 3 in the final ended up taking each other out & Bradbury skated through the debris to claim gold. The look on his face when he realised what had happened was priceless.

As already mentioned the Botham ashes of 81 what a turnaround after he was stripped of the captaincy.

Chelsea winning Champions League in 2012,Nadal v Djokovic in US Open both of which Nadal won and Nadal winning Australian Open for the first time was memorable too.
