I think there is very little between them

Walker's greatest asset is his pace while Trip's is his delivery. I think there is a very good chance for Trips to develop under Poch just as Walker & Rose have done. Lets be honest most of us though Walker was a total Liability until Poch got hold of him ! I think its the system and the coaching that have caused our FBs to make such great strikes as it allows them both to attack. Put it this way I'd take 50mln for Walker over 50mln for Dier anyday of the week. Unlike the Man United, City's Etc.... This great spurs team has been built around a team ethos rather than just collecting a number of shiny expensive new players

One thing I've seen written quite a lot the last few days as how it was good to sell Walker now as he's at peak and can't develop anymore but then people also saying Trippier can develop now yet there is only a couple months age difference.

In all fairness to myself I have said on previous posts that Trips is better

Can we stop deluding outselves that trippier is better? No way is he. It shows how fickle and easily influenced fans are: just because walker USED to be bad defensively he will always have the tag of "good going forward and bad defensively". Hes actually very good at the back and in fact i've seen trippier roasted and completely out of his depth quite a few times. Same way lennon was always "fast but no end product" despite the fact his crossing had greatly improved

One I honestly don't think there is much between the 2 of them , but if you look at the end of the last season Trippier was regularly starting and playing well. As I've said too there's if that you're opinion the fair play

So what if Trippier is injured? Who will we play at right back? Is Kyle Peters Walker good enough?

Didn't we close out the season winning 11 of our last 13 with Davies & Trips playing more than Rose (out) & Walker ?

Tripper and Davies both look good imo

Martial skinned Trippier more than once in the recent game at WHL, he is good against poor teams who sit back and don't put him under much pressure, allowing him to use his excellent delivery going forward. I worry that up against quick forwards he will not be good enough though. Hope he proves me wrong.

I wonder if/when Kane leaves then everyone will say Janssen is better.

Towards the end of the season, Trippier was better than Walker, but that's entirely possible that it's because Walker's head was already gone.

Walker has been fantastic for the last season or two. Trippier has grown into the role but isn't at quite the same level.

The main problem is we're so close to the very top now that small margins make a big difference. If this transfer weakens us by even 1%, and strengthens City by 1%...that could be what elevates them above us. So it's not a transfer we should be happy with.

How did the Walker fee drop 5m over night?

If Michael Keane is worth 30m and Sigurdsson 50m then Walker is easy 50m as the top RB in the league. More I would say with these inflated fees.
