seems as though morata will be starting again tomorrow
Morata is the Spanish Firmino. His team tend to play well when he plays, despite looking like Ameobi in front of goal.

Southgate didn't want to risk Maguire from the start but he might come off the bench.
Need him to get some minutes before the knockout stage.
They looked solid first game.
Hopefully we'll play with a bit more adventure tonight and Kane is more involved.
I don’t care. As long as we win.
scots raised their game for that one
they played quite well i thought
I hope morespurs ends up getting the gig
missed 2rd half, any major incidents??
I believe in America. America has made my fortune. And I raised my daughter in the American fashion. I gave her freedom, but -- I taught her never to dishonor her family. She found a boyfriend; not an Italian. She went to the movies with him; she stayed out late. I didn't protest. Two months ago, he took her for a drive, with another boyfriend. They made her drink whiskey. And then they tried to take advantage of her. She resisted. She kept her honor. So they beat her, like an animal. When I went to the hospital, her nose was a'broken. Her jaw was a'shattered, held together by wire. She couldn't even weep because of the pain. But I wept. Why did I weep? She was the light of my life -- beautiful girl. Now she will never be beautiful again. Sorry...I -- I went to the police, like a good American. These two boys were brought to trial. The judge sentenced them to three years in prison-- suspended sentence. Suspended sentence! They went free that very day! I stood in the courtroom like a fool. And those two baastard, they smiled at me. Then I said to my wife, "for justice, we must go to Don Corleone."
Was pretty boring and dull, I didn’t love the tactics at all - England did have the better of the chances but that’s about it really
Kane looks awful and uninterested. Which is really concerning.
At the moment we'd probably be better off without Kane but then none of our other attackers have done too much of note either in the two games so far.
There's no doubt this group of players are being hindered by the management and it was my biggest fear going into this tournament but it doesn't fully excuse the performances of quite a few players.
It’s much more the system than the individuals. While Kane hasn’t done anything of note, there hasn’t really been the supply - even Dykes got more service yesterday.
It may not have been a popular opinion but I’d have been much more happy seeing Mount taken off yesterday or Phillips & Mount pushed back - Foden at 10 and Grealish on the wing. We basically lost the midfield battle yesterday which was pretty poor.

Yeah exactly. It’s a cop out to blame the system for Kane playing shiiiiit.
Mount is doing what I expected, to be honest. Fack all. He’s just not that much of a threat in attack. Mentioned on another article I wouldn’t mind seeing Foden in there for Mount as he’d actually make runs beyond Kane. Tournament football is about moments and I don’t think Mount provides enough in that position. Issue is that Southgate loves him and Foden and Grealish are viewed more as wide players - though I get that given it’s the same at club level.
It’s much more the system than the individuals.
---------------------------------------------
It's both but the first isn't helping when it comes to the other. There are so many similarities between England and United. There's so much riding on individuals performing or at least creating and scoring out of nothing, often from limited opportunities but as Darren has said, when it comes to international football and short tournaments it's more understandable than it is at club level.
The midfield is still the weakest area in this team both in structure and the quality of midfielders we have. There's a disconnect between the midfield and attack like there is at United. I like Phillips and he can play some grate passes but he's still not the most progressive of midfielders and when you've already got Rice who may as well not have been on the pitch last night, you've got issues. If United sign him I will be seriously pissssed off.
Yeah I'd have taken off Rice, moved Phillips and Mount back, Grealish left, Foden through the middle off Rashford and Sancho right.
Who do you reckon, realistically, the FA would look to replace him with if he were sacked?
There’s not many standout candidates, which is why I don’t think he’ll be sacked.
Big Sam
was a disgrace how they set him up like that
England’s gratest ever manager. 100% win rate.
But seriously, I think people underestimate the difficulty of getting the right manager. Especially as England isn’t filled with top coaches, and I’m not sure if they’ll want a foreigner again.
Club football is better paying than international management. Roy Hodgson earns more for Palace than Southgate does - and more than he did when he was England manager apparently.
