Good sign for him to get through a four and five setter.

Arsenal have made an official bid for Locatelli according to their CEO, would be a great signing. Why aren’t we in for him ffs

Yeah, though it remains to be seen how his body will recover for his next game.

Just seen his third round opponent didn't even play his second round match because his opponent pulled out before they were due to play.

Yeah Shapovalov. He’s a pretty good young player, but he’s not done anything at the majors outside of a run to the quarters at the US last year, despite his ranking.

Can you give me an idea of how Varane has performed at Madrid over the last couple of seasons?

Here’s a stat that may surprise you (or not).

If England beat Ukraine this weekend, Southgate will become the most successful England manager in knock out matches at finals. He’s currently tied with Ramsey and Robson with three wins each.

Considering our knockout record, it doesn't come as much of a surprise.

last couple of years...quite poorly
made alot of mistakes, especially when Sergio Ramos hasn't been there to hold his hand and tell him what to do

Hoping a change of setting will do him some good and enable him to rediscover some of his old form and although I'm not the biggest fan of Maguire, having somebody who's very established in his role beside him will hopefully make it easier for him to settle in.

I’m enjoying the talk of the frictions in the French dressing room this Euros. I did have a feeling they’d implode a couple of months back, it’d been a while.

I think it spoke volumes that only a couple of players went over to Mbappe between him missing and walking down the tunnel.

Rabiot’s mum.

I’ve read a few stories about Mbappe getting a bit big for his boots in the PSG and French team.

Yeah I've heard the same.

I wonder if he's a bit piiiissed off he's still at PSG or likely to be for one more season.

Been spending too much time with Neymar, without being as good at football as Neymar.

The best part of the Sancho deal is we're paying it in equal instalments over five years, something I didn't think was likely.

Hopefully that gives us a bit more money to play around with for a midfielder after we sign Varane, if/when we do but unfortunately I think it's going to hinge on Pogba.

I think his self-infatuation has been building for some time.

Not only is he a World Cup champion and France idol and had Neymar as an example, but he’s also had Pérez pleading him to sign for Madrid ever since his breakthrough year at Monaco and PSG treating him like a demigod to prevent it.

It’s got to be hard to keep your feet on the ground when you’ve had everyone telling you the sun shines out your erse ever since you were a teenager.

Yeah I was surprised by that. Though Dortmund probably agreed to it because they know Roman will be depositing £150m in their account next month.

ioag, yeah that isn’t a surprise. I don’t think the bubble of PSG has helped either. He’s obviously an amazing talent, but he’s still got a lot to prove outside of France.

To justify that kind of status anyway. Neymar, for all his faults, had proven himself at Barca at a young age - playing alongside Messi and Suarez - as well as carrying Brazil since he was a teenager.

In the French squad there’s players that have long been the leaders of the squad before he came in to add the finishing touches.

You really think Haaland will move this summer Daz?

posted on 1/7/21

Mbappe from what I’ve seen is fantastic taking on opponents when in full flight, but much less impressive against set defences.

posted on 1/7/21

I dunno really. But I’ve seen Chelsea get their man too many times to write it off.

ioag, yeah that’s what I’ve noticed. I did read some analysis on Mbappe that suggested that despite being very skilful, he’s always been more suited to direct running and that he’s now trying to play more like Neymar than what suits him, and as a result he’s not actually performing as well as he did when he first broke through - despite the incredible stats in the final third.

Without context it’s hard to know, though. How the team set up changes, the opposition and whether he’s being coached to develop his game more could be a factor.

Many players lose something when they get older and become a bit more rounded as players. It’s not necessarily for the worst.

I don’t think Haaland will leave now they sold Sancho tbh, he’ll give it one last season and even that diiickhead Raiola doesn’t look like he will be fishing him out to other clubs.

Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano
Alexander Isak has signed a new contract with Real Sociedad until June 2026. Borussia Dortmund €35m clause has been bought out.

Interesting

You’re probably right, but it’s Chelsea so I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

I wouldn’t go anywhere just yet if I were him. Next year he can earn so much facking money and have his pick of clubs.
