It’d be interesting to see a statistical analysis of the types of crosses actually.
I remember one being done a couple of years ago between the different type of crosses that prem clubs were making, and what stood out - which aligned with the eye - was between City and Liverpool.
City were making far more at the byline and from closer infield. The variety of Liverpool’s crosses was much large, particularly from deep.
I don’t watch La Liga nearly as much as I used to, but crosses from the byline seen more prevalent from what I’ve observed.
Liverpool just gave it to Trent and Robertson and inshallah'd it. Worked amazingly for them tbf.

It would but and I could be wrong, I'd hazard a guess that Rio didn't have any data at hand about the type and volume of crosses that La Liga sides typically make when he made that comment.
I don’t think Rio makes very informed comments. His actual game analysis isn’t too bad but just kinda says stuff
and inshallah
I love that description. I remember seeing it a few years ago about Real Madrid.
Liverpool’s variety of crossing is so hard to defend against, though. Particularly Trent’s.
Another thing is that there’s more long ball teams in La Liga than the prem now. I think the type of crossing may have some validity, but it does appear that English football is becoming more Spanish and Spanish football more English - the deep defensive that are unconcerned with possession has crept into La Liga quite a bit over the years now.

@Worville did a piece on this which showed the most effective places to cross from and which players liked to cross in which areas
Most effective place is the ‘KDB zone’ just in front of the box
Yeah I’ve seen bits and bobs on it.
Apparently Chelsea are going to use Zouma in a swap for Kounde, meaning Sanchez won’t be going there now. Kick in the teeth for Spurs.
I remember Trent putting in crosses from the facking halfway line and then arguing with my mate who thought Liverpool played amazing football

At least we traded Lamela for Bryan Gil, which I’d pronounced Bryan Hill apparently which sounds like an 80s snooker player
You see your problem there is arguing with a Liverpool fan.
I cannot understand why Sevilla wanted Lamela. I’ve not seen anything of Gil to comment on him, but it just seems a bad transfer for Sevilla.
I hope that Jack Clarke you signed ends up good so you’ll have Jack and Gil on the wings.
Fack me, how embarrassing

Tbf I imagine that’s pretty important to let the socios know.
Randomly was looking at Bristol City’s team and noticed they have a 29 year old Andreas Weimann in their team. Who is probably the epitome of random PL player who looked really good for about 2 years and then terrible ever since
Tbf he looked terrible if you actually watched him. He could run really really fast though
Some grate goals tonight.
Pereira's, Jesus Christ!
That'll hopefully generate a bit more interest.
Yeah but you’ve gotta love players like him.
That goal was up there with Scholes’ one against Villa. Ridiculous strike.
We really need to start getting shot of some players now.
And the first team all back in training.
It’s gonna be another slow start to the season.
