I’m looking forward to the Europa to hopefully see some of our youngsters get a look in. Shame about Hannibal going on loan, he’s a fun player to watch.

Given arsenal's most recent history in the champions League, Ive grown quite fond of the Europa. Get to see some youngsters and it's a comp we should be getting quite far in.

I often prefer the Europa, its great - get to see youngsters and actually have a chance of winning*

Honestly just sick of this top 4 nonsense. I obviously get why it's important but having it as a main target just kind of kills my enthusiasm for the league. Good thing we play dece football now.

Another thing that fooks me off. Papa wengz took so much shiiiiit for saying it's like a trophy yet it's basically been marketed as such anyway. Surprised they've not made 4th a playoff to make more money from it.

I don’t think it can be ‘top 4 bolloxxxxx’ though when any higher ambitions are borderline unachievable

Aside from the Leicester anomaly its the same 4/5 teams winning every trophy + the gap has been too much for Spurs let alone WHU or Southampton or Brighton or whoever

I know, it just irks me how much the sports broadcasters push it now.

It’s been pushed for ages. I think it’s just taken on more importance now because there’s a ‘Big 6’. When it was the Sky 4 it wasn’t quite the same, as they were always expected to be top four. Now at least two big/rich clubs will have to miss out every season. The landscape is just different.

Ive found it surprising how the lack of CL football still hasn't hurt Arsenal yet. I wonder if a few more seasons out of it would have any effect, or if its just a case that PL clubs make too much money now.

Funnily enough everyone cared so much about the Super League - but its pretty much the EPL now.

I’d say it has hurt them. They aren’t as rich or attractive as they once were. They’ve had to change their transfer policy as a result.

Don't think we can sustain these big spending windows without CL football in the next 2 seasons I'd say. Kroenkes seem to have put up a lot of money since the full takeover. It's forced us to be smarter with our recruitment though, which was badly needed.

Will be interesting to see what the owners do if Arsenal don’t get into the CL this season.
