Football is getting ridiculous now. Neymar getting booked for his celebration.

It was a disgrace, I'm surprised they didnt give him further punishment he let the whole world down

The 2nd PSG goal is so ridiculous, stuff like that is like a video game.

Nothing especially spectacular about it, but its just unstoppable.

Yeah that’s hilarious, I actually follow that Nakamura guy on twitch and he’s really interesting and a big fan of Hans because all his interviews are hilarious.

He lost a tournament in vegas recently and when interviewed after kept going on about how happy he was that he wouldn’t have to play chess and could just drink and order room service while naked

Fed

Shame we didn’t get to see him play one last major and get a proper send off.

What do you think about the England squad? Seems we are definitely going with a back 5

posted on 15/9/22

Not massively unexpected. Thought he might wanna look at a couple of other players further forward. Mason Mount should be fired into the sun. Hope he gets injured so I don’t have to see him disgracing my country as bad as Prince Andrew.

It looks like he wants to go back to a back 5, I guess thats as a few players from last tournament are out of form who can play the back 4.

I have to say in that formation I would like us to try out Sessegnon - he hasnt played for the NT, but has experience in the setup under Southgate and actually plays as a LWB, Shaw/Chilwell have played so few recently I think they pose a risk.

I'd have liked to see Watkins as well, think he provides a lot of use to the NT

Bit too late in the day to be trying out someone like Sessengon. Would have preferred to see Rico Henry given a chance, looks a better player. That position is a worry, though. Maybe trying out Saka at lwb could be something to experiment with.

Watkins, Toney and Kane should have been the strikers.

posted on 15/9/22

I like Abraham, but him Toney and Kane is quite samey.

Rico Henry looks very good, but I do think it'd make sense to have someone like Sess who could come in and be a reliable LWB option. I thought that position was our biggest weakness last worldcup and looks to be the same this world cup.

posted on 15/9/22

A few games under Conte doesn’t make him a reliable lwb option, though.

Rwb was a bigger weakness because none of them performed as well as Shaw did. And we only used that formation twice.

But lots has changed since then anyway. I prefer Shaw as a left back but Chilwell has shown more as a lwb, so it’d be good if they can both get fit and in form to give us options there - Southgate hasn’t had much trust in Chilwell in the past, so Potter will need to work his magic with him to get him there.

Midfield will still be our undoing anyway.

I think he has been a reliable LWB more than a few games under Conte though.

I don't know who we will go with at RWB though, I'd guess he might look to use Walker RCB again - but I think James is better in that role even though I'd rather him play the RWB position over Walker.

posted on 15/9/22

He’s done fack all since getting promoted with Fulham.

James is a better rwb than rcb. I think it’s a bit of a problem that we seem to only switch to the back three for the big games. Shaw and Walker are better full backs than wing backs, and it’s difficult to just bring in two new wing backs for a big game.

Might be worth just going with three at the back for the tournament so they can build up some form.

I’d be looking at something like this:

Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire
James Bellingham/Phillips Rice Chilwell
Saka Kane Sterling

posted on 15/9/22

Sess was good his first season at Fulham, I think people sleep on that.

I'd probably pick the same team, although it doesnt seem great at the moment nobody really in scintillating form in that squad

posted on 15/9/22

I'd like to see a 4231 along the lines of:

Pickford
James Stones Maguire Chilwell
Bellingham Rice
Sterling Grealish/Foden Rashford
Kane

But Grealish, Foden & Rashford are a long way off at the moment

posted on 15/9/22

Though I’d prefer Shaw if it’s a back four.

Hopefully Rashford can find even more form and get into the squad. We really miss his threat on the counter. It’s been so frustrating watching us play with Kane dropping deep and only Sterling running beyond him.
