My mate over here coached to quite a high level but said the politics was unbearable and not worth it. I think his mate he went through it with coaches Weymouth or someone now and says how bad it can be

It’s weird that the FA aren’t doing more to promote coaching in Britain. It’s clearly an area that we are massively lagging behind the bigger nations in Europe.

You just have to look at the Southgate issue. Everyone complains about him but it’s not like there’s a good pool to choose from - it’s how he got the job in the first place, despite doing crap with the u21’s.

Yeah you are right, it’s been well documented for the longest time how ridiculously expensive coaching badges are in this country as well

I’m contemplating doing a few badges over here actually so that I can coach some kids and teach them the proper use of the word football

I done Fa coaching 1, 2 and coaching disabled footballers Edin. Well worth it.
I'm pretty sure you can get it sponsored too. I done it as part of work in the community and hosted some training for underprivileged kids for 8 weeks over a summer.

I very much doubt it nowadays, with my own kids etc and just life in general. Plus bodies failing me, too many injuries. Playing last year someone ruptured all my ligaments in my leg with a later tackle. Kind of the final blow for good level football.

Does it matter much if your body is failing you?

Having kids is part the reason I would want to do it

I was thinking more about international players from countries with more outrageous politics than Britain.

I won’t have a bad word said about Becks. I watched some of his video with Neville the other day and I’m already a massive fan of the people of Qatar.

It’s an interesting subject, though. I’m ambivalent about judging a person based on their politics. It’s a very complicated issue. And many people can have shiiiiiit politics but be lovely people that bring a lot of joy to others.
