I don’t understand why he hasn’t been knighted, to be fair. Maybe because he’s done so much to help children rather than facking them.

Why is that? Don’t really know anything about their politics.

It’s an interesting subject, though. I’m ambivalent about judging a person based on their politics. It’s a very complicated issue. And many people can have shiiiiiit politics but be lovely people that bring a lot of joy to others.

I'd actually be offended to be knighted.

I wouldn’t. It would make me better than you peasants.

One way we can ensure Becks never gets a knighthood is to change dazza's name to "Sir the King Becks"

I don't know how I'd feel. On one side my ego would love it, similarly I could try and get in the House of Lords and downvote anything the tories do. On the other hand you just need to see the kind of people who get/give one.

I Beckham Qatar ad just came up on my youtube.

Tbf I’ve never really thought about it. I’m too much of a piece of shiiiiit to ever get knighted.

What did Sir Keir get knighted for?

Being a Tory in disguise?

I don’t buy this Starmer Tory stuff. It’s Tories and the radical left in Labour pushing that shiiiit to discredit him.

He’s obviously not Corbyn, but Labour clearly need a leader that is more centrist to get elected.

Though I suppose by European standards you might say he was. I find European, British and American standards of defining political positions really interesting.

Was listening to a historian talk about Britain that made an interesting point about how England has genrally had political stability because we’ve never been extreme in any one position, which is why we’ve rarely had huge political upheaval or an actual revolution (the glorious Revolution isn’t comparable to the American or European revolutions).

Yeah I was being a but flippant

He’s just a bit too right on a few policies (but probably more electable than Corbyn unfortunately)

He's 1000x better than the Tories. Should t be the reason to vote for someone, but it is what it is.

Corbyn would have made a grate pm pre-Thatcher. He’s the most admirable man in politics. It’s a shame the Tories smeared him too much and that he’s not got the understanding of international political to run a nation like Britain.

At least Starmer realises that pointless things like singing GSTQ/K and wearing poppies is the thing to do even if you don't believe it is.

Corbyn didnt budge on too many things he had such strong opinions on (Which ultimately didnt matter at the end of the day) or other fights that werent worth fighting (tanking Brexit which I am still p*ssed with him for)

I think he was on a lose with his position on Brexit whatever he did. The Tories would have spun it as a negative whatever he said, it was damaged limitations.

He’s always been anti-EU, because he’s a socialist. But the neo-socialists are pro EU, much because they position themselves against the radical right - they don’t really understand the international economic policy of Britain.

Its funny the amount of things Corbyn believed in that proved to be right so shortly after.

Trying to nationalise wifi and make it a right was such a good idea, and then the COVID lockdown literally proved that shortly after.
Independent football league regulator, shortly after the European Super League was announced.

There are a few others I forget.

Yeah the media attack on him was groteseque (Devon pops in to say that it happens to all politicians).

I miss the EU

He’s excellent on domestic policy. The Tories are literally using many of his policies. But when it comes to foreign policy he’s easy to discredit. Britain still doesn’t accept its place in the world and is hanging onto the remnants of empire, which is why it aligns itself with America to give itself importance.
