Speaking of LigaMX, last week referee Rosario Cárdenas was sacked by the Mexican FA's refereeing committee over an incident that took place back in October, when he failed to show up for a Monterrey-Tigres game back in October for which he'd been designated as the fourth official.

The committee initially reported that the no show had been due to 'medical reasons', but it later it emerged that on the eve of the game Mr Cárdenas had been drugged and robbed by a call girl he'd taken back to his hotel room with him.
