How are we all liking the new format? I'm pretty open to change and don't mind them trying something - but I find myself not caring very much about the CL this year.

I can't quite remember how much I cared last year as well (probably not a lot either) & I've got even more going on in my life since then so its probably more a reflection of me.

I'm enjoying it a lot more for the Europa and being in it - but feel like as a neutral the CL just seems more pointless.

The CL group phase is a bit too random

36 teams and 8 games each ... it means some teams have a had a much harder draw than others

Compare Brest's matches with Madrid's...laughable the difference in quality of the opposition really

After a few seasons they'll play 10 matches, then 12 then 14, etc

it's the beginnings of a true super league let's be honest

it'll end up being like Euroleague basketball & will run parallel to domestic leagues

I’ve not really watched much myself. There just doesn’t seem to be that much jeopardy to the group stages at the moment, so I find myself not really caring.

Yeah I agree, can’t figure out if that’s me just getting old though + being less invested in football (haven’t watched more than 3 non-spurs PL games this season for example)

Group stages were always a bit boring though if we're honest.

I'd have preferred this new format, but there's just too many fecking games. Literally playing every 3 or 4 days, although midweek league fixtures are contributing to that aswell.

Also from an outsiders perspective, do you guys think Spurs fans suffer from delusions of grandeur?

Most of our moaning, criticisms and lack of patience is imo because a lot of the fans don’t realise that we are the 6th biggest team in the league and they get upset when we don’t compete with the likes of Chelsea or Utd or Arsenal or whatever. We have obvious other faults but we’ve definitely lost perspective

Just slightly. Literally think it's because there's one big table as opposed to sifting through a load of small ones.

It's a group stage in a cup comp, they're hardly ever exciting.
