Remember when the media told us the racism in this world cup would be out of this world? Same b/s every time a major sporting competition is held outside the "Western" countries. No one else has a right to host them because they aren't as holy as they are

it's always been the same in britain wumpy

anti-russian propaganda has been incredible here for a while now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep I've seen that propaganda on every single football forum in this world cup. It's why I've largely stated away. Interesting to note that no one talks about how the Getman world cup bid in 2006 was also marred with corruption allegations. They are one of the good ones I guess.

Another thing to note is that most leagues outside Europe take a break during the world cup. I hardly see how it's a big deal when for once the European leagues need to take a break during a world cup

Unreal tennis. Surprised Djokovic won, Nadal was looking the stronger player. But Djoko showed a fighting spirit that has been lacking for a few years now.

Honestly you might have already gotten this from my tone but I do feel, the fact that that they didn't win it greatly surpasses the human rights issues in Qatar for the British media. It's also incredible how the corruption in IOC only became a problem after the Olympics in London. Before then nothing was ever mentioned! The outrage on the world cup corruption is mainly about how England didn't get it, not on the human rights issues. It is why I will call b/s on the whole thing. Apparently they forget that England got the least number of votes in the first round of voting in the voting for the 2022 World Cup. They never really stood a chance, corruption or no corruption

On the whole "It's coming home" thing, I thnk wump and peksnot only miss the joke, they miss the underlying point, the grain of seriousness that the pearl needs to grow on.

Fact is, England gave the world football. It gave it the best legacy anyone could give. It gave them the game. The Chinese may say they own it, but the British own it and gave it to the rest of the world.

So, for 50 years England owned the game, England was the governance of the game. England wrote the rules, designed the pitches and everything else.

Then, 50 years later, some guys came along and said you’re liars and they actually stole it. It was called FIFA. Fifty years later, another gang came along called UEFA and stole a bit more.

That's why it's time for football to return to where it belongs. The game needs to return to its spiritual home and to be restored to a purer form. The difficulty is winning it under the rules the cheating thieves have established.
