Pellegrini rumoured to be taking over at Betis.

Hardly surprising but Pochettino has rejected Benfica.

Gomes has been linked with Benfica. I said ages ago that Portugal would be the best league for him to go to. Hopefully he does as I’d like to see him develop as a player, even if he hasn’t got what it takes to be a top player in England.

Yeah he's being linked with clubs in various countries.

I don't even think it would hurt him to move to the likes of Spain or Germany and play in the Segunda or 2. Bundesliga but I doubt he'd accept that.

I just hope wherever he goes he goes there for the football and doesn't just sign for the biggest club that approaches him.

Yeah same. That’s why I’ll be disappointed if he goes to Chelsea, just to be a part of their loan army.

Sane to Bayern done apparently. Imagine being a right back and seeing Sane and Davies running at you.

You can never fully believe what managers say but Lampard was asked about Gomes today and he said he knows nothing of it from his end.

Yeah that's a potentially frightening combination.

Tbf Lampard won’t be involved in signing players for their loan army.

That pen Atleti got.

That’s the league done now I reckon. Can’t see Madrid messing it up from here.

Looks like Madrid are closing in on the title this year, Peks.

Barca look dreadful. Setien doesn't seem to have made much difference to Barca's results or style of play. They look extremely vulnerable defensively too. Atletico had chances to win this game, and Celta Vigo should have won the last game (Nolito's miss was abominable).

You still need to take advantage of the slip up and beat Getafe, but it's hard to see Barca winning it from this point onwards.

Barca's pen was extremely soft too, to be fair. There was a tiny bit of contact, but Semedo definitely dived. He was looking for it.

I didn’t see that one, to be fair. But the Carrasco one was an embarrassment. Spanish refs really are terrible.

But who cares? We won 3-0 again.

Yeah, both penalties definitely shouldn't have been given, so I guess you can argue it evened itself out

Zidanes record will be absolutely unreal considering he's nothing special as a managee

Your team looks totally different now to the one we beat on New Year's Day. Bruno and Pogba make such a huge difference to your midfield.

It's why I want us to sort out our midfield really badly this Summer. Having that creativity, guile and ability to carry the ball in midfield is so important, especially in transition.

yeah samir , i think madrid should win it now..

if we're 4 points ahead after the match on thursday and after the potentially difficult weekend matches (we're away in bilbao, farza away in villarreal) the league is ours

some ppl are just born lucky
zidane is one of them

really though, i agree he's not the best manager

I’m starting to think maybe Zidane is actually a better manager than he was a footballer. He’s going to end up more successful on the trophy front anyway.

Samir, yeah it makes a big difference. Also Matic’s form has had a big impact, eve though I’ve spent the last four years slagging him off I’ve gotta give credit where it’s due.

Early days for us, though. When it clicks we are capable of battering teams, and our forwards can be really effective, but we need the consistency of getting those one and two goal wins.

We’ve scored 3 or more in 9 games this season in the league, Liverpool and City are the only two that have more with 11.

But we’ve not managed to score more than once in 17 games. That needs addressing.

There was a lot of talk about Sarri being under pressure after the Cuppa results. But they’ve won four in a row in Serie A since the restart, and are actually on course to get their third highest points total.

Madrid may not be exciting to watch, but Zidane gets most of the basics right and has very often outmaneuvered managers with much bigger reputations than his. He's also played a good long game with his squad rotations in league seasons. And in a dressing-room that's notoriously hard to manage because of its egos, he's only really had one big man-management issue - and even that's been six of one and half a dozen of the other.

He's pretty much the antithesis of your modern-day star manager, doesn't big himself up or belittle his opponents, and seems to be a charismatic and soothing influence for the vast majority of his players.

And right now, he clearly seems to be he's handling the club's transition better than the league's other top dogs, despite taking over a complete shidtshow that was way off the pace of his opponents. They've got the head-to-head over Atleti and Barça (unbeaten against both in the league); have gone from the worst defensive record in the top 5 to the best in the division, and are on course for a points haul somewhere in the mid-80s and, with any luck, a league title to go with it.

Madrid’s defensive record is the most remarkable thing, it’s the best in Europe thus far.

Not wanting to go overboard again but we were good last night and sailed through a game that looked on paper like it could pose us some problems.

Hopefully if we keep winning we'll get a chance to move into the top 4. That's probably when we'll slip up though.

Greenwood, my goodness what a talent he is. I do feel he's potentially next level special.

Even knowing how good he was at youth level, I could never have predicted just how good he'd be for the first team.

How the fack do you stop him? To be able to keep control of the ball when you're running at defenders, deceive them with step overs, easily switch the ball onto either foot and get a shot away quickly all while moving at speed, that's an amazing ability to have.

The pass to Bruno as well. Again to be able to pick him out like that while running is incredible.

He just always seems in control and clear in what he's doing. The intelligence and maturity he shows is staggering for an 18 year old.

Blown away by this kid.

Who’d have thought having quality players like Pogba and Fernandes on the same pitch would see better performances? Still annoys me we didn’t get him in the summer. We’d be pushing City for second place if we had him all season I reckon.

Greenwood really is a gem. I don’t like Daniel James but I think Ole’s managed Greenwood well this season. I don’t want to get too carried away, but if he can keep this up, and get some more time to develop through the middle, it won’t be long before he benches Martial.

Arguably the best thing Fernandes has done has is taking the spotlight away from Pogba who has now gone out and run the midfield every game he has played.
