Brentford v Nottingham Forest Match Thread

I don't think we're a top six side, perhaps next season with added midfield bite.

Like to see Brereton given a chance as Central Striker. As Club Captain I would always have Cohen at least on the bench assuming he's fit.

Saw Collymore at the Southbank. He was very positive about how things have worked out at the club. Said grinding out a few 1-0 wins gets momentum going, even if the performances lack a little polish. Reminisced about his first season where Forest were struggling at the wrong end of the table under Clark and he switched the system to 4-5-1, brought in Bohinen and they never looked back. He hoped Warburton would be flexible too as it could make the difference between a decent season and a great season.

Brentford still have the players (Vibe, Canos, Jota) who caused so much trouble at the FCG, so will we be given another lesson? I hope not, we have to have learned forom it.

Have the coaches been working the back five on how to bring the ball out from the back?

I can't see there being too many changes from last Saturday. Maybe Bouchalakis will come in for Clough; Maybe Carayol. I hope there is a change of central striker.

Looks like a 352.

I've wanted to see how Vaughan and Bouch do together since preseason so interesting 👍

Interesting line up. Hopefully a bit tighter at back than Millwall game. I'm still surprised Cohen isn't starting games. And a three man defence but no left footer could cause issues with our possession game.

Also, where is everyone?

Forest: Smith, Darikwa, Worrall, Mancienne ©, Mills, Osborn, Vaughan, Bouchalakis, McKay, McKay, Clough. Subs: Evtimov, Lichaj, Traore, Brereton, Carayol, Dowell, Cummings

So three at the back and no place in the squad for Cohen.

Everyone seems to have deserted this site, that's why I stopped bothering with a match thread!

Abnormally quiet for a match day thread, it's to the busiest forum.

Just as I was typing
"Brentford playing the better football but we're defending better than we did against millwall and we're still making chances"

Brentford score....

Good half from Forest. The Greek bloke, I think, is class. Looks really good on the ball and can certainly pick out a pass. His goal was unstoppable.

Cheers Monkey. First goal is quality. Have we got ourselves a quality midfielder? We so need a playmaker in there and he could form a great partnership with Vaughan/Cohen depending on opposition. Pleased for Murphy as that'll give him some confidence.
