Yes, at some point. We won't sack him unless something absolutely disastrous happens. There comes a point where a manager hits a ceiling and needs to be backed by the hierarchy. That's not happening so essentially he's carrying everyone at the club. There's only so long he'll put up with that. In fact, if he didn't look elsewhere he'd be holding back his own reputation. It's not just the club that needs silverware. My bet is that if PSG don't get to the semis of the CL this season, regardless of their domestic form, they'll sack their coach Emery. As a former PSG man, Poch would jump at the change to coach the likes of Neymar etc.
In short, I think we've hit our ceiling and Poch has hit his ceiling. To go further, he needs financial backing and he won't get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs salary is £121 million, revenue is £210million
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your point? We can all blather on about staying within your means etc but I wonder what the ratio to revenue and salary is at other clubs like City. I feel like I went through all this yesterday but we're the 2nd best team in the league paying salaries you'd associate with mid table sides. You'd have a point if FFP was actually a real thing but it's not. Most clubs ignore it and the money comes from an enthusiastic oligarch. We have an astute businessman running us. His instincts are about finance, not football. Sometimes you just need a backer with more money than sense.
If you want to keep the top players, you've got to pay the top dollar. Otherwise it's back to the days of Allan Nielsen and Gary Doherty.

Poch has never really been a big spending manager though, it will be interesting to see if it is one of his philosophies or if this is just due to who he worked under at Espanyol/Saints/Spurs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All very noble but long-term spending little to nothing and underpaying your staff in comparison to rivals will create disharmony.
Levy and Poch have done a marvellous job so far but it could all fall away unless money is spent on keeping the playing staff happy.

You are using what I'm saying as a stick to beat me with as I'm an Arsenal fan. However, whilst I largely agree with you (Sanchez wanting to leave says it all) Arsenal does pay similar wages in comparison to other big clubs like Utd and City. Sanchez for example has reportedly been offered £270 - £300k a week. Ozil has been offered similar.
I'm sure if Spurs did the same then Rose wouldn't all of a sudden be pining for his mum in sunny Doncaster.

We pay £120 million, but there's a massive hike to Liverpool on £200 million. That for me is telling as they're at a similar level to us, financially. Their income won't be much higher than ours yet they're paying nearly double to their players.
Players like Isco earn less than Rose and don't have a moan, it seems Premiership players like to moan and demand more.
Only Kane is our irreplaceable player, the rest can be replaced, if some of them want out then go on, off you go.
Reckon Rose will be gone come the end of August and I am worrying about Eriksen if Barcelona don't get Countinho.

Had exactly the same thought a few days ago when Liverpool were digging their heels in. The papers have alluded to it this morning. He's already said you can't turn them down. I don't think Levy will sanction it though. In light of recent events, he can't afford to look unambitious by flogging all his best players. He'd be crucified.

Hope so! Although I'm not suggesting Levy change his ways, he never will. It's more about stepping aside. I like his principles but if we ever lose Poch based on a lack of ambition, I don't think I can back him anymore. And I won't be alone.

how would you know though. if poch leaves to go to barca its nothing to do with spurs, its the fact that barca want him. spurs could have won the pl for three years straight, he would probably still make that move.......
I was thinking about this earlier today. , I think what happens in the next 3 weeks will tell.
If Rose goes it could end up with a majority of players following suit.
If this is the case then Levy may have no choice but to break the wage structure.
Of course there's always the chance that Roses comments may have had a twist put on them.
Poch said he'd never manage Barca due to his Espanyol links

Had exactly the same thought a few days ago when Liverpool were digging their heels in. The papers have alluded to it this morning. He's already said you can't turn them down. I don't think Levy will sanction it though. In light of recent events, he can't afford to look unambitious by flogging all his best players. He'd be crucified.

I'm a realist Fridgeboy, I just can't see the club being held to ransom over wages, until we're in the new ground and our revenue increases I just can't see it,
This will all be forgotten once the window closes and we're smashing teams

Hope so! Although I'm not suggesting Levy change his ways, he never will. It's more about stepping aside. I like his principles but if we ever lose Poch based on a lack of ambition, I don't think I can back him anymore. And I won't be alone.

I agree mate, I do, I want us to buy in this window and I believe we will, I'm being quiet about it because I believe we will bring in the players, we have to bring in a RB

how would you know though. if poch leaves to go to barca its nothing to do with spurs, its the fact that barca want him. spurs could have won the pl for three years straight, he would probably still make that move.......
