Speaking of Bodvarsson, watch his howler v Brizzle on Saturday. It comes at 1.40

Now, now, we don't want to upset any overseas posters with "drivel" about ex players. Can we not talk about the weather instead?
That WAS a bad miss mind...
Not been out yet cinci, as there are still gusts of wind around (bit like Wolfgang really). No flooding as we are just west of I95 inland. I'll take a look later and see if we lost any shingles from the roof.
Thanks for asking mate.
That my friend was an appalling miss, an absolute howler and demonstrates why Reading paid about £2,999,500 too much for our cheerleader.

Yeah ok. We has about 6 inches of rain here over a period from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Lovely stuff it filled all my harvesting tanks back up to the brim and raised the level in the well by about 2' 6".
It's been lovely and sunny here again today and very hot with the temperature this afternoon up to about 37 degrees.
Bod was the biggest loss for us this summer for me, think he could have done a good job with us this season.

Have you watched the video above?
I have been a bit sad to see one or two players leave that I felt were not used to their full potential by previous managers. But the more things progress, the more this squad and the playing system develop the more confident I become in Nuno's ability to recognise players who will or will not fit into his plans. Some of the players who have gone have (in my opinion) limited ability at this level but some are talented footballers who are simply never going to do what Nuno wants them to do. I think Bodvarsson, Dicko, Edwards, Weimann and Graham all fit the latter category and frankly I don't think we will miss them at all.
The other standout for me since Nuno arrived is the improvement in 'Old Guard' players. Batth, Doherty and Coady are like different players than a year ago and that has to be down to coaching. At last we have a coaching staff who can bring out the latent talent of these lads. A year ago Doherty was a pretty solid RB who was versatile enough to switch to the left when asked. Who would have guessed that he could go on marauding runs up the wing taking on defenders, cutting inside or dashing for the byline with a few step overs and dummies thrown in for good measure. The transformation is miraculous and Coady? Don't even get me started on Coady.
My fervent hope is that this coaching team can eventually work their magic on Hause, Enobakhare and, at some point, Iorfa and turn them into the players that we all suspect they could be.
Coady is the big success story for Nuno. I don't think anyone saw a centre half in him but he has played well every game so far. I thought Batth played well on Saturday and I could see Boly replacing Miranda not him when fit.
I can see your point gem that some of the players we have let go may not fit Nuno's current style, but the subs we are using are tending to give us more of the same rather than a plan b. Maybe we will be good enough to not need a plan b but the likes of Graham, Bodvarsson and Edwards could have given us something different where plan a wasn't working, as we saw against Cardiff

That is a good point DJ. At the moment though Nuno is showing no signs of adopting a plan B. He seems hell bent on making plan A work regardless of what the opposition do and I am certainly not qualified to say that he can't do it.
Exciting times aren't they?
I think the glaring miss by Bodvarsson is a good reason why we let him go and got good money for him. Edwards just doesn't fit into this new style, but I would have liked to see us keep Graham.
I think you're right Gem when you highlight the new coaching staff's ability to get the best out of this squad. They saw the deficiencies in some of the squad they inherited and have taken the necessary action.
It does seem however that we are relying on one system only and don't seem to have a plan B if things go pear-shaped. Still, he has time to get his #1 system near to perfection first, then we may all see something different and possibly a plan B.
Can't say Miranda has impressed me that much really, looks good at times and then looks lousy at others.
Not sure any team gets anywhere without a plan B.
Did Barcelona ever have a plan B?
Did they ever need one?
Are we as good as Barcelona?
My answers to the above are:
1. D/K
2. Not very often
3. Not yet.

Right now Miranda looks like the weakest link and with the way Danny Batth performed on Saturday I think Miranda is going to have to improve to keep his starting 11 place. Batth, Coady, Boly looks like a pretty solid back 3 to me.
I think the other player who is in danger of losing his starting 11 place is Barry Douglas. Through no fault of his own (he hasn't really put a foot wrong since the start of the season) he could get ousted by Rubin Vinagre.
I confess that I was not impressed with Vinagre the first time I saw him play and thought he belonged in the u21 squad. Last Saturday's performance changed that though. He was brilliant. Pacy, brave, fearless and linking well with Jota he displayed qualities well beyond his years.
Yeah gem, I said prior to the Cardiff game that perhaps Batth should be starting against that style of opposition and he did well on Saturday.
Curious as to what happened with Bennett this week as he was ahead of Batth two weeks ago but nowhere to be seen yesterday.
Vinagre looked shaky for the first fifteen mins or so but looked great by the end, good to have competition as we saw with Saiss as well now he has N'diaye breathing down his neck and putting in an almost flawless performance and possibly one of the best I have seen from a wolves midfielder ever
Surprised to see no Wolves player in the Championship team of the week, particularly Jota. But at least he did get voted as the goal of the week.
Agree with you gem about Vinagre who has been one of our best players in the last two games and he got the second place in our man of the match vote in the e&s twitter feed. But I thought Douglas was possibly our best player in the opening games before his injury. Good competition for that position
Wonder if it will be the same line up tomorrow?
Would drop Marshall for Eno or cav personally, cav fully deserves a start but is he disciplined enough for the system?
