Vardy won't make Nevfact so Slim will start the rest agreed.

Morning TB.

That looks way too lightweight in midfield for me. You're asking Albrighton and Ndidi to be 2 players!

I'd play that team with King behind Vardy or stick with Mahrez and King in a 4-4-1-1.

Also, Fuchs should defo play but not at right back...

I want to see Gray start, but on the right wing. He has less chance to be greedy there, likely staying wider and looking cross rather than cutting inside and looking to shoot. Albrighton left in front of Shakey's choice of Fuchs or Chilwell.

In centre midfield, two of Ndidi, King and Iborra. Each has negatives - mistakes, influence and energy respectively. There is an argument for all three, but Bournemouth are playing with a midfield two as well right now so it should be a fairer match-up. And I don't see how we could reasonably leave Okazaki out right now.

Up front, I reckon Vardy will make it. But if he doesn't then Slimani.

Vardy will start.

Fuchs for Chilwell and Gray for Mahrez. I think King will hold onto his place for now.

Would be good to see Iheanacho get some time with Okazaki in behind. Obviously the problem with that sub is that by the time we would be looking to bring nacho on we'd be looking to take Shinji off!

It wasn’t a positional line up, just a team selection, i’d also go with Gray on the right but would like to see him and Allbrighton switch back and forth to keep the Oppo on their toes.

Unless we go 3-0 up quite quickly of course and can then give Vardy a rest.

Like the team he's picked, except might perhaps have been tempted to go for Iborra over King.

Incidentally, didn't Claudio also bench Mahrez for Bournemouth away in our title winning season? Then he went on a purple patch and couldn't stop scoring.

Maybe wishful thinking, but...

Oh yes. I thought you'd predicted King in midfield. Shame on you.

What do I win for correct team prediction??

Probably the right call to start with King as, until Iborra gets up to speed, we don't precisely know what we're going to get from him. King is a safe option as we know exactly what we'll get from him: an uninspired, mediocre, performance that gets a score of 5 or 6 out of ten (or 9/10 if you're Mersey).

Thought this might be the game to give Iborra a run out, without being disrespectful to Bournemouth, they're hardly in the same league as the midfields of most of the teams we've faced so far.

TB - I think the physical West Brom might be a better place for him to start than the energetic Bournemouth. Probably the right call, although it'd be good to see him come on as a sub if the situation's right.

KTF - Kudos. Which unfortunately is worth less than nothing around here.

Kudos....is he better than Musa?

Greek European Championship winner? I should say so.

5 minutes in; sounds awful so far...

our midfield sounds like they are defending much to deep can't be Marhez's fault this week?

posted on 30/9/17

How long before a sub then with the millions on the bench?

posted on 30/9/17

Sounds so far like they're not defending deep enough -Josh King getting all sorts of space.

We just look nervous but It'll come, we are slow starters.

As Taggart says we are a yard off the pace

It's not good enough to just accept us being slow starters if we get overrun each time. I have no problem with keeping it tight in the first half but we're not doing that.
