Lads we can argue all we like about our defence but the raw fact is Matip and Lovren simply aren't a reliable pair. The style in which we play doesn't help either. A better 6 in Keita and a more dominant centre half to partner Matip will go a long way in solving the conondrum.

What should he do? Get his boots on and stop shelves perfect through ball?

Or perhaps sub himself on for matip and make a different tackle?

Perhaps he should have been stood by migs post so he can run on and clear it as it rolls towards the goal off the strikers foot?

Hes had many a transfer window to find better defensive players, yet seems to tell us that there is nothing in world football, thats available, thats better than what we have.
Sorry, but Im simply not having that.
So not quite sure what hes got to moan about.

its not like this type of $h1t is a one off, its seemingly happening every week, so the buck stops with him.

Team half asleep, players can't work out an offside trap, attack were down the pub last night clearly and Mignolet was slipped ketamine before kickoff.

I know it shouldn't be an excuse but that's the second game running we should have had a penalty for pulling for in the box. Not playing our best but don't seem to be getting much luck at the moment.

Dominated what exactly? Newcastle have let us have the ball and will continue to we have done fack all with it other then sloppy passes, sloppy control, weak hold up play etc. Walking around stroking it about at pre season friendly tempo no intensity nothing, a wonder strike from Cout the only reason we aren't behind.

Why can't any of you credit Newcastle for their goal?

You can't call them beating the offside trap terrible defending, it's great attacking, and 9/10 if the defender gets back and makes that tackle its not a goal.

Unfortunate, and I know many here hate to admit it, but that was some great play from Newcastle, exactly how we played under Benny with torres

The two CBs were moving bacwards which kept him onside. If they were looking to catch him offside they both failed miserably, which is terrible.

Any other defender in the league that made that last ditch tackle that Matip did would have been rewarded for it.

Of course for us it ricochets off their striker into the bottom corner.

The bar chance as well. Somebody up there definitely hates us.

The defending was still a disgrace though.

So poor to.concede t like that. Was criminal. I don't care what you say but if u change defenders every game they will not be on same wave lenght

Moreno of all players is the only player worth his salt in the back four, I can't see how Gomez is going to progress being played out of position. Lovren and Matip just don't seem to anticipate any danger we either need to change them or find a player who will screen the back four.....

It can't be denied we are not having much luck.

Goal is slightly offside. On another day it's given. Not to mention the fact it's a fluke. Poor defending to let him have that space, but he's slightly offside and then it flukes in.

We also have a stonewall pen not given (arguably two).

We make our own problems, but our horrific luck this season can't be ignored.

Any decent centre halfs would have simply stepped forward, to avoid giving the officials a chance to fluck up, but they didnt.
No reading of the game, no anticipation, nothing.

Almost every player will have been played out of position to gain experience.

Both carra and Gerrard started at RB for us
