Until then, a bit part player.
======
And including then! You said yourself he barely played - surely the definition of a bit part player.

He got his chance the next season, when Soldado was fit. He didn't start the season as first choice, but his Europa perfomances led to his inclusion in the PL team ahead of a fit Soldado.

This was the comment I was disagreeing with : "when Soldado had been pants for years, he only played when Soldado was injured."- he hadn't been pants for years, he was only at Spurs two years. And he played when Soldado was fit - I don't mean a couple of token games at the end of a season, I mean established as first choice.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Soldado missed 2 games towards the end of 13/14, at which point Adebayor has already come into the fold before Kane did. Kane got a couple of games but started 14/15 behind Adebayor and Soldado in the reckoning.

Kane belatedly got his chance due to the failings of Adebayor and Soldado to provide the goals, while Kane was impressing in the cups, something which Poch alluded to when he said that maybe Kane saved his job.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/mauricio-pochettino-harry-kane-first-season-tottenham-rescued-job-a7949026.html?amp

So despite Winston’s fictional claims that Kane staked his claim towards the end of 13/14 and retained his place in the starting lineup from that moment onwards, we can clearly see that this is nonsense.

Ledders-I must confess my love for Neo,I've dreamed of his manhood in my face smelling of B.O.He fills my rear end with his cream, the rest is bottled just like Spurs title dream. (U20121)

I have looked it up.

Try this:

The big question is, will you apologise when you realise you're wrong and I'm right?

Oh how sweet this is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So where does that evidence that Soldado didn’t start 22 games then?

posted on 5/10/17

Also, what is the point of this? Kane was developed, given chances, and when he was ready Soldado was dropped in favour for him and the rest is history.

Seemingly Spurs played the situation very well and produced one of the deadliest strikers in world football.

Nothing to do with Soldado?

'true breakthrough'

You just can't admit when you're wrong, can you?

Soldado was injured. Performance didn't come into it.

'Europa performances'

He'd started one Europa game that year.

Do you think I won't notice if you make things up?

Fictional?

Check your facts.

Soldado was injured for the Sunderland game.

Kane started.

You're backtracking and it's brilliant to watch.

The point is that there was a very real chance that Kane may never have made it at Spurs.

Played 9 scored 7

Yes, true breakthrough. He was getting token games for 3 seasons. A true breakthrough is when you establish yourself in the first team. Otherwise his breakthrough season is in 11/12.

Token games are not six starts on the bounce.

You can disagree, but I was not wrong in what I said.

If Kane was so revered by Sherwood, and if this was all part of the plan, why was he getting so little game time prior to those six starts?

Adebayor replaced Soldado, as he had been doing all season...

Kane was in place of Soldado.

So Adebayor started the game before?
Nope. Adebayor replaced Soldado just as he had been doing all season!!!

Except that's not what happened, as we can see with the Soldado injury.

And no, but Adebayor and Soldado had started plenty of games up top together that season.

You're just desperate not to admit I'm right.

It's pretty pathetic.

I’ve never not said that Soldado wasn’t injured at all in 13/14, so where have I backtracked?

Was he injured in 14/15 when Kane still wasn’t playing at the start of the season? No.

So Kane didn’t establish himself in 13/14 while Soldado was injured then did he? He established himself in 14/15 while Soldado was fit

Who started v Arsenal and Chelsea? Adebayor. Who started v Southampton and Liverpool? Soldado. Not both, one or the other. The two up front had long been abandoned.
Adebayor replaced Soldado, just as he had against Arsenal and Chelsea...

Soldado in 13/14:
Squad - 36
Starts - 22
Subbed - 6

22 starts + 6 games brought on a sub = 28

28 appearances, of which 6 of them were coming off the bench means he started 22 games.

You have said Soldado being injured is not the reason Kane broke into the team.

But it is.

Kane did establish himself when Soldado was injured. Had that period of six games never happened, it's quite feasible Kane may never have got his chance.

So come on, tell me what was fictional about what I said?

Oh, and how are those stats working our for you?

======
Why is it? Not as if he started the next season as first choice. His performances in the Europa are what pushed him into the first team in the PL.

Has it occurred to you that Sherwood only went 4-4-2 against weaker opposition?

Stop trying to wriggle out of it.

Clearly the likelihood is that Sherwood would have gone 4-4-2 against Sunderland and that would have been with Adebayor and Soldado.

You're not stupid but you are desperate to avoid admitting I'm right.

posted on 5/10/17

D'Jeezus Mackaroni (U1137)

Because his lack of minutes that season - increasingly so - suggests that Sherwood had no intention of integrating him into the squad.
