Recommending vaccines for 12-15year olds and saying we may need more restrictions or face a difficult winter

I'm not sure if his warning have been right 100% of the time, he's normally said that "if we don't... Then..." And then becuase we did bring in more restrictions the worst case scenario doesn't happen and home counties/Yorkshire weirdos get up in arms

Vaccine boosters will of course help a bit but judging by Boris reluctance for mask mandate/distancing/WFH order etc and the general attitude of some we're probably going to go into a late and unwelcome lockdown when the NHS gets overrun again

Record vacancies and no longer thousands of applicants for one job, perfect recipe for big wage increases. Thanks Brexit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with sterling devaluation & inflation, (as well as additional red tape businesses incur due to the new trade barriers) the consumer will feel the brunt of (including wage increases) these costs.

Many SME's cannot afford (especially in high volume, low margin sectors such as food and drink) to increase wages, and are folding on a daily basis, as they try to recover from Covid.

Record labour shortages isn't really something to champion.

Once again, if it requires labour shortages extending to widespread service disruption across various sectors for wages to be lifted to a level at which people can only just afford to feed, clothe and keep a roof over the head of their children, then your economic system is fundamentally flawed.

Lord Frost announces that the “control our borders” balls will be delayed until July 2022.

That’s the new date for everyone to believe in Brexit.

Until then there will be no compulsory border checks on goods arriving into the UK.
However there will be a snarl up in supply chains as drivers need to have a passport instead of ID cards.

Merry Christmas all

I mentioned on another thread CDS is not due to be implemented until March 2023.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/customs-declaration-service-to-become-uks-single-customs-platform#:~:text=HM%20Revenue%20and%20Customs%20(HMRC,platform%20from%2031%20March%202023.&text=HMRC%20will%20be%20closing%20its,system%20on%2031%20March%202023.

IMO it will be years before the government finalise it's trade border.

Given the complexities involved, maybe wasn't such a great idea to rush everything through, and forego scrutinising/impacts.

The post Brexit immigration rules another example.

How would excluding/preventing EU nationals from filling skills shortages, (they've fulfilled for decades) impact the economy might have been an idea. And then possibly phasing in over a period of years, instead of virtually turning off the tap.

Shamefully dredging up yesterdays chat but it does appear they're being more lenient with ID for the older generation than the younger.

There might be a way of justifying this but it's still a Tory govt making it harder for demographics that don't tend to support The Conservatives to vote

There is no way to justify making it harder to vote in the country, it's already something a third of the electorate don't/won't do.

Polling stations should be open for 7 days and voting should be mandatory with a "none of the above" type box added.

How the fack can they even begin to justify the proposal of accepting photo ID travel passes from OAPs but not from young people?

The UK government's chief medical advisor has asked people not listen to Nicki Minaj's anecdotes about her cousin's friend's abnormally gigantic testicles. What a time to be alive.

Thought this was a good read tearing to shreds the GBD and the sinister backers of it.

That was a really good read, shows how vested the interests in covid denial were.

Amazes me the correlation between climate denial and covid denial too, although I suppose it shouldn't.

Very closely linked from what I can see. A few beliefs are applicable to both Covid and climate change:

- The problem isn’t real or is grossly exaggerated
- It’s not my problem anyway
- If you ask me to change anything to mitigate the problem, you’re a fascist

----------------------------------------------------------------------
- People who believe the problem is real/serious are brainwashed ‘sheeple’
- It is obvious that the problem is not real/serious (argument from incredulity)
- There is a vast global conspiracy supporting the claim, in which (amongst others) all established media and journalists are complicit
- The claim has been fabricated in order to achieve [insert goal x, being an end they don’t like the idea of]
