We've been very lucky with ours. We signed a 25-year mortgage in 2003 with a floating rate set at Euribor +0.6%.
It's been 4.3% this year, but now less than 4 years left to pay.

Water bills go up to save the industry. Share prices will rise as a consequence, so shareholders get more return and get richer without investing more money. Its a scam.
Dont pay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we don’t pay our credit scores get mullered and we can’t get credit cards or car finance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is an issue with our facked up economic system. But it’s what needed to see the political change to address this disgraceful practice by utility companies.
Complaining on ja606 about it doesn’t do anything to enact a change.

Got my first place just over a year ago where the best deal we could find was 5.3%, which that in itself was quite lucky as it was 6% when we first put the offer on the house in and thankfully they dropped before we closed.
It's absurd though because we're only knocking around £250 off our mortgage each month at the moment despite paying over £1200.

Posted this before on here, and not to rub it in, but as a comparison:
We usually pay between €10 and €15 per month for our water. Two people in a small, detached house with a big veg patch which we water every other day in the summer.
This in a region where it doesn’t rain (sometimes at all) between May and the end of October.

"Prosecutors in New York are using a little-known, decades-old anti-terrorism law in their case against Luigi Mangione, which could potentially mean a harsher sentence if he is convicted.
The charges, known as murder as an act of terrorism, apply when a crime is committed "with intent to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of a unit of government by intimidation or coercion or affect the conduct of a unit of government by murder, assassination or kidnapping”.
If convicted, the terrorism designation automatically means a harsher sentence.
As an example, the Associated Press noted that an assault, normally punishable by up to 25 years' imprisonment, would carry a potential life sentence.
According to New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Mangione's "intent was to sow terror" by gunning down Brian Thompson in a busy part of Manhattan on a weekday morning.
New York officials have also cited the anti-corporate message of Mangione's writings as warranting the terrorism designation."

I’m not a fan of Mandy’s politics, but I think he’s a pretty savvy pick for US ambassador.
A serious statesman with decades of experience who probably knows more about trade dynamics and diplomacy than Trump’s entire cabinet combined, will be able to communicate with Trump and Rubio in languages they understand, and won’t take any shiiiit (and he’ll hear a lot, no doubt) about internal UK politics and policy.
“[M]ore in favour of a new relationship [with the US] rather than a special one” is just the right kind of tone for me, too. The US needs to be told it has taken acquiescence for granted for far too long, and that the balance of the relationship needs to be readjusted.

Crazy as it sounds, the garbage collection and processing industry is one of the most corrupt around, and is riddled with organised crime. There is huge money in recycling.
For recycling, read shipping garbage off to contaminate underdeveloped countries and claiming the green subsidies on offer.
European governments and the EU happy to turn a blind eye, since they just want to claim they're fulfilling their green commitments.
I might have just made all of that up, but it would comes as no shock if it turned out to be true.
